My Valentine's Present For You: Gifter's Short Films

If you guys have been following my music career from the start, we've successfully launched our youtube channel on September 10, 2022. One of the first contents we uploaded was our music video of Panagway.

Gifter and I have meticulously arranged its screenplay, storyboard, and the entirety of the sequences and details. Angle by angle, and expression by expression, we tailored it as passionately as we could to portray the right emotions in the song. We're glad and lucky that Gifter has a younger brother who's a professional videographer. He was our main man behind the image-capturing process of our music video.

But let me tell you something fascinating. Before RiorTrek was born, Gifter used to write and direct short films a few years back. He's the director of these two short films that I will share with you on this article. Let's get to know them one by one.

Han/San - Eternal Pals

This short film mainly talks about what true friendship is. Hannah and Sandrine vowed each other to best friends for life. However, the friendship was tested when Sandrine became popular after her Asia's Next Top Model stint.

It was seen in the early part of the film as it flashbacks how Hannah gets affected of how Sandrine is treating her. It seems to her that Sandrine is arrogant and insensitive. She's worried about her behavior and might end up losing the friendship over Sandrine's popularity. On Sandrine's defense, she's just being genuine and reassured that she'll never change.

But then, being in the showbiz industry, there are a lot of things to consider such as not disclosing personal or close relationships with anyone in their lives. Hannah and Sandrine haven't been in touch for almost a year due to her busy schedule.

To make amends, Sandrine anonymously sent Hannah a text message to organize a fundraising event through carolling. When they met, Hannah expressed her disappointment to Sandrine. However, Sandrine made it up to Hannah and still made the fundraising go through.

Jicky-Slicky

Written and released as a sequel to Han/San Eternal Pals, Jicky-Slicky is a Valentine's short film. It depicts how Sandrine's life changed after achieving her dreams on becoming Asia's Next Top Model. However, the story revolves around a guy named Jicky.

Jicky has an intense crush on Sandrine. He always takes every single opportunity to be with Sandrine with courage and determination. He asks help to Hannah, Sandrine's best friend, who happens to be his former schoolmate too to set him up for a date.

Hannah, in all honesty expressed her thoughts to Jicky about how much it will affect his life if he enters Sandrine's life. It's crazy how showbiz industry works. The endless malicious, discriminations, and negative comments could go over miles with people not caring about their actions.

It is then found out that Jicky has a disability on his leg. But with Jicky's courage and bravery, it didn't stop him from wishing to be on a date with Sandrine someday. With Hannah’s help it did happen, and Jicky was the happiest man in the world.

Apart from these 2 mini-movies that Gifter and his brother made, my buddy has another magnificent plan – to make a short film for each of our songs! Gifter is somewhat too ambitious, don’t you think? We already did it in our first single Panagway, and because Gifter’s ambitiousness is a  bit contagious, I have to say I’m very determined to go along with this far-fetched plan of his too.

He told me he is planning to make a short film with me on starring role. He said it will be a video of me riding my bicycle while I’m in the process of diffusing a bomb. Weird but captivating, right?
