Hey guys! This is another day of a movie review. Today, we will be reviewing an animated film entitled "Mulan".
This is my all time favorite animated movie. I have watched this movie since I was 6 so I have memorized the storyline, the songs that were sang, the characters, and their dialogues (literally) 😅
My thoughts about this movie:
This is a classic movie! It is a masterpiece! The production is superb. The animation is amazing, everything is extraordinary and well - developed.
Mulan is a great character. She is an example of how strong women are and how far women can go to protect their own family.
This movie also depicts the tradition and culture of China where every man in a family must serve the military to protect the country from the conquerors.
It shows in the movie that Mulan's father is having a hard time of practicing himself as a soldier because of his old age and his handicapped leg. Since there is no other man from Mulan's family, Mulan decided to disguise as a man to fill the position of her father in the military.
Mulan is escorted by a dragon named Mushu, the creature sent by Mulan's ancestors, and a cricket sent by her grandmother during the ceremonial assembly for arranged marriage. However, Mulan failed to bring her family honor because of some undesirable circumstances. But that gave Mulan an opportunity to bring her family's trust again by serving the military.
Mulan struggled during the earlier part of the training but soon aces as she worked hard and proved she can do the same thing as what guys can do.
As the movie goes, during the war, Mulan was hit by an arrow and got injured that made her to be discovered as a woman. From then, the troops avoided her because she lied about her identity but she soon recovers their trust as she was able to save the emperor and the country from her creative strategy.
The movie ended with a party with her ancestors and Shayne, her captain visited her in her home to return her head gear of uniform.
Sidenote:
There is actually a remake of this movie to be released this year but a lot of characters were no longer part of it. They just want to focus more on how China was before in terms of wars.
Mulan is one of my favorite animated movie, watched it many times.
