Many Filipinos don't have credit cards or debit cards to pay for Netflix. Many don't have postpaid plans for cellular companies, as well.
But did you know, you can pay and have a legit NetFlix subscription through Gcash? I know there are so many posts on Facebook selling cheap NetFlix subscriptions without you having to open an account or anything. Honestly, I don't know how that works or if it's legal or legit. But I don't want to judge them for doing so. Anyways, this post isn't about them. This article is for people who want to own their own NetFlix subscription and have full control of their account.
NetFlix is one of the leading home entertainment to watch various genres of films.. To original Netflix films, series to documentaries and so much more. We are all aware of what NetFlix is and how awesome it is.
What you need in Gcash:
First, you need to have a verified Gcash account.
To do this:
Log in or create an account in Gcash
Tap Menu (three lines on the left corner of the screen)
Choose the option Get Fully Verified
Select a Valid ID you have (UMID, Driver's License, Passport)
Take a clear photo of your ID and hit NEXT(Front and Back or whatever it states)
Take a selfie of you holding your ID. Make sure that the photo is clear.
Fill in the information asked
Review and Submit. Wait for the confirmation that you're application has been approved. You will be notified asap.
You also need to have AMERICAN EXPRESS VIRTUAL CARD activated in Gcash. (This is free and no maintaining balance is needed, so don't worry)
To do this:
Open Gcash App. (Log in)
Select "Show More" on the home screen.
Under "Lifestyle and Shopping", select "Pay online".
Select "Pay with American Express Virtual Card"
Enter your email and click "Register"
Select "Okay", and a text and an email confirmation will be sent to you.
Link your American Express Virtual Card by going to the "My Linked Accounts" tab in the Menu. Click on American Express Virtual Card and you will see all the details you need for NetFlix. (CVV Code will be sent to you via text.)
How to pay Netflix using your Gcash:
Sign in to Netflix.
Select "See the plans"
Select the plan desired and hit "Continue"
Select "Debit or Credit Card" as your payment method.
Enter the details from your American Express Virtual Card details. (Make sure to type the exact details from your American Express Virtual Card in Gcash. You can view the details in "My Linked Accounts" in your Gcash App. (CVV Code of your American Express Virtual Card is sent to you via text)
Select "AGREE" and "Start Membership"
Aaaand there you have it! Your own legit Netflix account! Just make sure you have enough balance in your Gcash when starting a membership in Netflix as it automatically deducts the amount in your Gcash. You will also receive a text and email confirmation from Netflix about the successful payment. You can now watch, worry-free! Enjoy and I hope this helps!
