Filipina

Filipina is what you call a girl Filipino. Fiipino is the native people in the Philippines. Filipinas are known to be very shy, gentle and very passionate. In history, Filipinas were labeled as "Maria Clara" which is from Jose Rizal's novel. *(This will be discussed elaborately in a different article*) Maria Clara was described to be demure, passionate and very traditional. Some say they are forbidden to laugh aloud in public and should be very modest especially when they are around people. They should wear clothes that hides the majority of their body. Some elderly say that most Filipinas that time are so conservative that they let their suitors court them inside their homes and with their parents' consent. If the parents' disagree then they don't have a chance with that guy and vice versa. And sometimes the parents are the once who pick whoever they want to marry their daughter. But there were also Filipinas who fought for freedom. **I'm not so good at history and this (Maria Clara and the history of being a Filipina) is something I need to write to a different article and have more research about it.** Nowadays, Filipinas still possess some characteristics of Maria Clara but a more adventurous one. Some Filipinas are still the old-fashioned one but a lot are more adventurous. They are still gentle and passionate, they still behave in the most modest way they can and still value their worth. But today, they are more freely to chose their suitors and who to marry. They are more aggressive (in a good way) now, if that's the right word for it. I am a Filipina and I'm proud of it-old fashioned and nodern version-I have that traits. This article is not to raise bad image of Filipinas in the past. This is just to share how Filipinas behave in olden times. I don't think it looks or sounds bad though. A lot of this things also happen to everyone in the world at some point. Also, this is just based on the stories my mother and my late grandma used to tell me.
