OK so lets go over the Upland basics to get you started with buying your first properties using your free UPX bonus.
First as a new visitor, You will have to renew your visa before each seven day period expires, failure to do this will result in the lose of your estate, UPX, and any properties that you have bought so always remember to keep an eye on your visa status. “You can keep track of this in your profile on the top lefthand side of the screen”.
You will only need to do this until your estate reaches 10,000 UPX in total value, including property and UPX, that's when you become an Uplander. “You can also check this in your Profile”, at any time.
Move your profile up and down to check your status and information of progress.
A second but equally important thing to remember is that you receive a bonus each day for game play, just by signing in, do this for seven days in a row and you receive a higher bonus, each day it rises and could provide added funds to purchase more property weekly.
A quick rehash of the in game buttons and on screen Icons
Profile= Top Left
UPX= Top Centre, Total value of UPX available to buy properties
Get UPX= Top Right, An option to buy UPX for those that want to progress through the game faster and build up a quick portfolio of value that choice is optional and use at your own discretion.
Timer= Top right below the get UPX button to keep track of any spawn time for treasure hunts or riots mode. I will go into these in more detail in a follow up article, however you get one free spawn a day to search for free treasure, utilise this to gain a bit of knowledge and experience, you can pay a further 50 UPX to spawn additional times, But as a new visitor I wouldn't suggest this at this point.
Challenges= Top Right below the timer, this button will appear whenever a challenge is available, challenges are introduced occasionally and for special events, they will usually be for those that have reached a certain level within the game.
Map= Top of the bottom buttons on the bottom right hand side, the map allows you to see the current area/ location within the game that you are in.
Properties= Bottom Right below map, this buttons allows you to view properties nearby.
Search= Bottom right hand corner, this allows you to search and move to a specific address, such as one you own or maybe keeping an eye on buying.
Three Dot= Bottom centre is a quick menu, you will be using this quite a lot for various reasons I we will go into each of them at a later time, some you will use buying your first properties, building collections which multiply rents earned on properties in that collection, the leader board, messages and settings etc.
Bishop= Bottom left had corner, I'm not actually sure what this button is called but it resembles a bishop on a chess board to me so I call it bishop, this button will bring you to where your avatar is within the game and can be used to search for properties.
OK NOW ONTO THE FUN PART
Using the triple dot button in the centre of your screen you will find a quick menu, in here click on the collections Tab, You want to swipe to the left until you find newbie collection, this is only one property that you need to purchase to get your collection reward and also earning income from both the collection bonus and rent from your new property that you are going to buy, this is important as this will boost your earnings, each collection gives you a better rental bonus on properties within that collection, I will give you some tips on how to maximise these benefits later in this article and others once you have began to grow a portfolio and become an Uplander as you can then begin to sell Properties.
Now to find that first property for your newbie collection, go back back to the main screen and click on the Bishop, when your Avatar appears click on it until you have zoomed in close enough to see properties, as a visitor you need to look for properties that are green and labelled “FSA” these are the only properties that are available for visitors to buy.
Pick a property labelled “FSA” and click on it, A property discovery will pop up explaining how much the property is to buy in UPX, now, click the more button to discover how much it will pay in rent on its own and as part of a collection, if the price is reasonable, roughly anywhere around 800-1600 UPX is what you want as a visitor, However I would suggest that as a visitor you consider purchasing properties of less value that fit a collection type this way you can maximise on the rental revenue bonuses of those collections. If you are happy, click the buy button.
When you have purchases your first property head back to the quick menu and register this property in the newbie collection to maximise rental income with collection bonus and receive your reward.
Great you have began to start building your Virtual property journey, from here you want to remember to collect your rental income whenever possible I believe you can collect every 3 hours or whenever it is viable for you to do so. Don't leave it to long as the more often you collect the more active your blockchain activity and better options will become available.
Lets get that portfolio growing shall we, head back to the quick menu and browse collections, Remember with each new collection you get a reward of UPX as well as rental bonuses, I will give you a “BONUS TIP” that will help you earn more UPX and become an Uplander faster after You complete your next collection, by buying three properties in an area such as Brooklyn or Bushwick and then registering it.....”NOTE”, This is import and I will tell you why in the “TIP”, purchase these 3 properties on the same street. On the same street.........Thats kinda another “TIP” right there. but sushhhhhhhhh, we'll say no more about it.... He-He
OK have you purchased your next 3 properties on the same street in either Brooklyn or Bushwick and registered that new collection and collected your reward, good, I hope you aren't fibbing now, you want to maximise those rewards and rental income as much as possible, to build value for your growing property portfolio, it's worth “NOTING” that I will be giving a massive “BONUS TIP” on how to resell your properties for multiple times what you have paid for them once you become an Uplander, this “TIP” will be disclosed in the MYLAND Virtual Real Estate Clan, on Torum over the coming days so you better join up fast.. OK once you have completed a collection of three houses in one strreet for say Brooklyn or Bushwick, look for other collections that you can use the same properties from your previous collections to begin a new collect, such a “King of the Street” You need three properties on one street and can use the same properties from your previous collection to achieve this hence gain extra rewards while also improving on your rental bonus, “COOL HEY”
Now that you have become “King of the Street” lets maximise on your capital by growing that portfolio of your's, buy another two reasonably priced houses on the same street as the other 3 previously bought properties, then use them for the City Pro collection to gain more rewards and higher rental bonuses. Always remember to be a Tycoon you gotta think like a shark, "Goble them up".....
