I read some times of how people talked about the POTUS ( president of the United States) election , of how people confused the popular votes with the electoral college. The president of the United States is voted by group of electors known as the electoral college. There are 538 electoral college which is equated to the number of representatives each state has in the Congress , and the capital which has the same number of electoral college as the smaller states. Before the election each community meets to chose the electors before the election.
