The gig economy

In today's article, I wanted to discuss with you my readers the gig economy. This type of economy consists of an economy where the job market is mostly filled with gig jobs or that the overall employment rate is in gig jobs. Now as of writing this article (3/3/22) there isn't a country built around a gig economy. However, multiple countries are getting to that point and I'll cover why it's the future in this blog article. I also cover what gig jobs are and if they are good or not. With all that being said we can now dive into today's article.  

Gig Jobs

In today's world, we tend to order things such as food and other goods or services online through apps on our phones. We never stop to think for a moment about the people who work these jobs to provide us with these services. The people who work these jobs are the future of our economy if we keep heading down the road we are going down. The most popular of these jobs consist of jobs such as uber drivers, door dashers, uber eats drivers, and Instacart delivers. Now there are a lot of reasons why as to why these jobs are becoming so popular nowadays and that's something we are going to cover real quick. Now the main reason that these jobs are becoming so popular amongst people is because of the flexible schedule of these jobs and the pay of these jobs. These jobs don't have benefits of any sort but they do offer good pay and a pay system based on how much you want to work so the more you get done in a day the more you get paid.   

Why the gig economy is the future

Now I'm going to get into exactly why the economy of the future is going to be based around gig jobs and workers. One of the reasons people are starting to work these jobs is because it's easy money to make in your free time. Which is a great way to work as this allows you to have more control of your time and day which therefore can make you more proactive as you can plan out your days easier. Another reason these jobs could be more popular is that they can be done by anyone so nothing is stopping you from earning as much as you want on most of these apps so that means if you are old, young, lazy, or hard-working you'll always earn money on through these apps. The gig economy has also picked up since the start of the pandemic.    One way the gig economy has picked up is through online freelancers.

Since the start of the pandemic working from home has been the go-to for most companies and employers. Even still some companies struggle to get workers to fulfill tasks so to make up for this they hire online freelancers and contractors. These freelancers can do anything from video editing to writing articles, or even being temporary employees for the time being. The gig economy is expected to grow as digitalization becomes more of a reality and more of the world gets connected to the internet. So prepare for a future where we might be working on our times doing what we want instead of working a 9 to 5 and not having fulfilling lives or careers because of your 9 to 5 job.
