In today's blog article I want to discuss with you my audience what the future of media is. I got a lot of positive feedback on my last article which was the future of the world economy post so I thought I would follow it up with yet another the future of our lives article. This time we will cover the future of media everything from video and tv to gaming and music/radio. Much of this ties into cryptocurrency and NFTs so make sure you read the whole article to get a read on what is possibly our future. With all that being said though we can now get into today's article.       

The future of Video and TV

As I'm sure many of you know the days of tv are now gone especially in first world countries and there are many reasons for this. They range from high cables prices to premium tv channels not providing enough specials and antenna-based tv not providing enough content. There's also the elephant in the room which is streaming-based platforms are taking over. These companies vary in size from small to huge but what all these platforms have to offer that tv doesn't is better pricing and content. Now not all of these platforms compete with each other compared to tv where it's highly competitive to get viewers. Another great benefit that these platforms also offer that tv doesn't to its audience is the community that comes with most streaming platforms. Audiences on most streaming platforms such as YouTube and twitch offer a community that viewers can interact with and partake in. I also believe as cryptocurrency streaming platforms become more popular and developed that these platforms will take off bringing in a whole new aspect to the community element of streaming that can potentially allow viewers to earn alongside the streamer or content maker they are watching.  

The future of Gaming

Now I've slightly covered this topic before in other articles but I never got the chance to go in-depth with this topic. Gaming is becoming one of the most popular hobbies in the world especially as the new generation comes in and as the older generation passes which will eventually make it even more mainstream. With the coming of this younger generation gaming will start being more about what you have to show off and flex such as skins for example. As this younger generation gets more into the digital world through cryptos and NFTs we will start to see it leak into the gaming world. There are already multiple gaming studios some being triple-A studios that are working on integrating NFTs into their games and projects. Then before we know it gaming will be in the metaverse and no longer in the real world. This is the next big leap or transaction in gaming and soon enough it will come but first, we need to continue with baby steps for now.    

The future of Music and Radio

As I'm sure everyone knows radio is on a downhill right now especially in America. The only time radio is ever used is in a car ride and even then it's barely used. What has taken over in place of radio is podcasting. Podcasting is becoming one of the most popular media forms next to video games in recent times. I believe as our economy becomes more of a gig economy and more people start to work from home or online that more people will podcast popularity will explode. Music will begin to change as well as radio becomes less and less popular amongst listeners. To make up for the loss of revenue from radio musicians will start to adopt NFTs as a possible way to make up for that lost revenue. These NFTs can allow for more independence for the artist and can allow more creative freedom for the artist. These NFTs can also allow fans to get benefits that a listener wouldn't get if they were just streaming the music through a streaming platform.
