How the Ukrainian-Russian war is going
In todays article I wanted to discuss with my followers and readers how the current Ukrainian-Russian war is going and how it can effect you personally. Before we get into the article I just want to state that my heart goes out to the Ukrainians and I keep them in my prayers. I also pray for those Russian troops who don't want to fight this war but have to and are forced too. I'm also going to attempt to be as non bias as I can with this article. So without further more let's get into todays important article.
The current state of the war
As of writing this article (3/5/22) the current war is in a stalemate. With not to much action or gains being seen by any side. However in recent days the frontlines have shifted a little with Ukrainian forces taking back the city of Mykolaiv from Russian forces. the convoy north of Kyiv is still stalled and still hasn't moved to much. The siege of Mariupol is still on going with the temporary cease fire in the area being suspended for now as Russian shelling of the city continues despite efforts for a humanitarian corridor. It's being reported that Russian troops have ran into logistical issues which is why the convoy to the north of Kyiv is facing issues pressing onward. It also why there are reports coming out and videos surfacing of Russian troops raiding and robbing gas stations and grocery stores due to food and fuel shortages.
Russia is currently facing protest from the battlefield and frontlines to the Homefront back in Russia. Currently citizens in Ukraine of Russian occupied territory are protesting Russian occupation and Russian troop moments in there towns and villages. The Russians have also been protesting the war as well. However this has been meant with resistance from the Russian government which has led to mass arrest at these protest. Compared to Ukraine where there citizens are in full support of the war and are doing everything they can to help from making Molotov cocktails and forming irregular militias to donating supplies and money. Russia has also cracked down on western media recently. This has taken away basically free press in the country and now all there is left is state media.
What this means for the rest of the world
So now that we've covered what's been going on within Ukraine we can now look at how what's going on in that country is affecting the rest of us. Let's first start with the price increases everyone has been seeing recently in goods especially gas. Now due to recent sanctions brought onto Russia by the west has shaken up the finances of the world. Especially in the energy sector more importantly the price of oil has sky rocketed recently. Causing gas prices to go up for drivers but it also means we could possibly see more supply chain constraints. Which could lead to more inflation and higher consumer prices for everything.
This in turn could take the world economy into a rescission akin to 2008 or even worse. But not all is bad the sanctions also have some positive effects on the economy as well in some sectors. For starters commodities have gone up in price so everything from grain, to lumber, to precious metals have gone up in price so if you hold any of those your have had a good time in recent days. However those aren't the only assets to go up cryptocurrency in recent days due to the sanctions has gone up considerably since the start of the war. However right now it is experiencing a slight pull back but we could possibly see some more upwards action in the coming days or weeks. Some more great news for cryptocurrency miners and gamers as well the recent sanctions have led the worlds computer chip makers to stop selling chips to Russia. Which can possibly help fix the computer chip shortage the world is facing right now which is one of the leading factors as to why we are experiencing this inflation that no one has experienced in recent times. With less chips being sold to Russia who is one of the biggest importer of these chips and one of the biggest cryptocurrency mining nations the demand for the chips should come down in price for now.
