With the change of normal way of living to new normal, every lives has been affected. From adults to kids, from works to non-works, everyone is affected.

In education, from traditional face to face learning, the Department of Education came to a decision to change it to online learning. Different terminologies came across that decision.

Synchronous learning refers to a learning event in which a group of students are engaging in learning at the same time.

Asynchronous learning is a general term used to describe forms of education, instruction, and learning that do not occur in the same place or at the same time. It uses resources that facilitate information sharing outside the constraints of time and place among a network of people.

Blended learning is an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace.

Modular distance learning or real modules given to houses of students.

Aside from those, some companies lauched an educational platform that can help the teachers and the learners.

Here are some examples:

V-Smart Courseware/School is a one-stop teaching and learning platform that supports self-paced, asynchronous learning online. This platform gives teachers the power to create a course, providing both educators and learners future-proof learning opportunities that go beyond the classroom experience.

V-Smart Courseware allows schools and teachers to continue to deliver learning in cases when classes are disrupted or cancelled.

KPluz is the most comprehensive online academic excellence system in the country today for pre-school, elementary, and high school students.

Despite the effort of Department of Education, and some companies, to help the teachers and the learners to have an easy access in education despite this pandemic, it can't change the fact the it still a struggle especially to the teachers.

Teachers spend most of their time, learning and adjusting to new normal way of teaching or the online learning. Attending webinars everyday hoping for new learning or how to cope with the new way of teaching.

Practicing, creating modules, and trying everything to make everything easy for the learners. Just by thinking of so many things do to and to prepare will definitely brings a headache to teachers.

I am sure parents as well are having their hard time when the school start this August 24th. They also take part of their childs learning since the learners are on their side.

Learners will also find it difficult. Adjusting is not easy after all.

Cooperation between the teachers and parents might be a great help to attain and sustain the needed learning of each learners.

This is just the beginning.

It maybe a struggle for now, but soon it will be a great help to advance the educational system of the Philippines.
