I am residing in the northern part of the Philippines, Province of Cagayan to be exact, which consists of 28 municipalities. Cagayan province was also known as the land of smiling beauty. The estimated population as of 2020 is 1,273,219.
The region
Cagayan Valley, designated as Region II, is an administrative region in the Philippines, located in the northeastern section of Luzon Island.
It is composed of five Philippine provinces: Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino. The region hosts four chartered cities of Cauayan, Ilagan, Santiago, and Tuguegarao
Cagayan Valley region records 30,751 establishments according to the 2018 result of the Census of Philippine Business and Industries (CPBI)
BCH Adoption in the Region
Basing on the above-mentioned Numbers of population and numbers of establishments, BCH would be almost every corner of the region, but that's not the case, BCH adoption in my region is not that very well known.
Here's a BCH merchant in the Philippines:
As we can see, the Philippines' adoption of Bitcoin cash is smaller compared to other neighboring countries like Thailand. Let's look closer, let's focus on my region.
Looking closer, in my region, there's only one merchant who adopted BCH out of the 30,751 establishments. And that's located in Isabela.
Final thought
The Philippines' Adoption to BCH is not very known yet, but the Philippines is known for being adoptive regardless of what aspect it may be. With the growing population of BCH users, growing popularity, continuous development, and innovation, it is expected that bitcoin cash will be adopted not just in some regions, or the Philippines as a whole, but in the whole world.
Thanks so much!!
