The longer I teach in secondary school, the more I realize the problem in our educational system... and the parenting style of this generation. It's sad to think what would the future generation become... sigh

ang isang problema ay ang curriculum ng Basic Ed. Pero isa lang yan sa nakikita kong issue. At least kung college, me academic freedom ang bawat school lalo na sa pagdating sa curriculum

As a parent I am concern somehow too. Once my daughter sa bullied in their groupchat, I really talk to her teacher because the convo of those young ones today is so alarming. I was not satisfied how it was settled but at least they know that I check on my daughter's fb and messenger and never allow her to join those useless groupchats. By the way sir, what incident makes you say and post this? I was a bit curious (marites kung tawagin).🤭

bullying is another issue... One issue is, some students are getting a lot more pressure from parents to get "high grades". The way I see it, with the current system, the grades does not truly reflect how much the kids have learned.
Another problem is, these kids can't handle failure... Meron pang iba... I think I will write about it soon...

Yes I notice that here too because in the past few months some student committed suicide. We always told our kids especially my eldest that we will be happy if they have high grades but it doesn't mean they have to push more about it. We just wanted them to have a passing grades and a bonus if they achieve more. Also the doing of task and chores at home, I wanted them to learn so they won't be like those lazy ones who never knew even to clean up their beds. Children in this generation seem so lazy.

True. Kids who can't handle a little failure do the extreme. In my opinion, the best way to prepare our kids for their future is to let them experience failure and let them learn from their failure...

I'm no expert, but I think you are on the right track when it comes to parenting.
