House Renovation is Almost Finished

They started to tear down the old house for renovation in the middle of April. It was made light materials, mostly wood, and bamboo. Wood borers have already spread almost everywhere weakening the floors and the whole structure. There was no other choice but to renovate the whole house.
While the main house is under construction, we had to move and sleep in a small hut that was used as a dirty kitchen, dining and resting area.
Hello once again, my awesome friends. Yes, for almost a month now we are cramped in a small hut while the house is being renovated. I don't mind the small space, but my concern was our Internet connection.
We had to have our Fiber Optic Internet connection temporarily disconnected while the house is under repair. So I had to buy a pre-paid wifi device from Globe.
Elevated Concrete Flooring
Our area is flood-prone area, especially during high-tide. The water could get as high as about two feet. The old house was already elevated but it was on "stilts".
This time, the ground was filled and the flooring is concrete. A second floor is now added. The main columns are concrete but the rest of the house is made of lumber, Hardieflex (fiber-cement board), and plywood.
Fast Workers
Fortunately, the workers are fast. Only three persons are working. The foreman, and two helpers. In just about a month, the house is now almost finished.
This is how it looked after they tore down the house and started installing the concrete columns.
About a week after, the framings were almost done.
On the third week, they have finished the second floor flooring, roofings, and outer walls. HardieFlex sheets were used for the outer walls. The kids were excited.
This week, they installed the walls for the upstair rooms. Yesterday, they poured concrete on the ground level floors.
In Closing
Renovating a house these days does not come cheap. Even though this house is still about 80% to 90% made of lumber, HardieFlex, and plywood, the cost still went over 200,000 PHP.
Anyway, we are just thankful that the construction is almost done. Hopefully, we could start moving in next week.
