I admit, I was not able to write actively in Hive or in any blogging platform for the past few months. I told myself "being busy" is not a valid excuse. It's just a matter of setting my priorities.

To set my priorities, I have to set my goals. Thus, I have to set my goals here in Hive, particularly in my earning and savings goal.

I find setting my goals in Hive is quite difficult though. My earnings from my articles are not consistent. However, I have to set my goals one way or another. So, I came up with a strategy.

Greetings my dear readers. This is a cross-post of my Article in Hive. I believe, participating the Saturday Saver's Club is a great way to practice the principle of saving first before spending.

Start with what I've Got.

In Jan 8, I recorded how much I have in terms of Hive, HP, HBD and Savings. Then recorded what I have before I started writing this article.

Thus in the past 16 days and with only 4 articles, I gained 8.95 HP, 1.763, HBD and 0.8 savings.

In the past 16 days, I earned 6.560 HP and 2.022 from one of the four articles that I have submitted. The the rest, I earn an average of 0.007 per curated article.

Start With Achievable Goals

Perhaps to avoid frustration, I want start with a small and achievable goals based on the data above.

  • HP +20

  • HBD +4

  • Savings +2

My Plan

There's no other way to achieve my goals. I have to do more every single day! I have to make at least one post a day. If I am lucky (the thing is I don't believe in luck), if at least two of my articles will earn more than 6 HP each then that's more than half of my goal.

From what I have learned from @curamax's post (A Beginners Guide to Earning 150 Ecency per day), I can use my Ecency to boost my posts and gain more exposure, and perhaps gain more upvotes.

Not only that, I also need to increase my overall participation in Hive by upvoting, commenting and reblogging!

In Closing

This is just my trial goals. If I can achieve these in less than seven days then I have to adjust my goals.

What I have to keep in mind is, if I want to gain more, I have to do more! That means, I have to write more!

I don't know much about Hive but it seems like it's not the easiest platform to understand for beginners.

True. I've been there for six month. I have earned quite a bit, but I haved redeemed my earning yet. Redeeming your earning there is a bit complicated. The entire ecosystem is complicated, but it seems that you can grow your earnings passively in Hive, I think I'm getting the hang of it now.

Iba kasi sa Hive. Dapat, palakihin mo muna ang HP mo. Yung iba napansin ko hindi na halos sumusulat pero kumikita ng malaki sa curation (upvoting).
