A Look Back To My Birth Week
July 1, 2023
It's about a week since my last post here. I have just returned from a three-day In-Service Training in Iloilo City last Thursday. Iloilo is just about 110 kilometers from our city. Somehow though, I felt exhausted since I got back. I wanted to write about what happened this week... which happens to be my birth week, but I just felt so tired to do so.
So, let's take a look back at the past few days.
Pre-Birthday
My Birthday was on the 26th. However, it was also the first day of our training. I decided to have a simple celebration on the 25th. Since already have that thing used to make samgyupsal, I decided to make use of that. We both had some pork belly, hotdogs, squid balls, and other ingredients. It was simple but fun. The kids enjoyed "cooking" their food. I also bought some chopsticks for them to use.
a simple spread for my pre-birthday dinner.
My 5-year old son, learning to use the chopsticks.
The Three-Day Seminar
Frankly speaking, I did not expect much from the seminar. If it was not already paid for, I would have backed out. Anyway, it was too late to do it.
We were a bit late when we reached the venue. It was ok though, I don't we missed so much. One thing I realized though, the training was more fun and I learned much more than I have expected. Perhaps, we were fortunate to have a couple of good trainers.
Me, during the training.
Another big realization is, we now know that we've doing a lot of things in our job incorrectly.
My groupmates from different private schools within our region.
I was planning to treat my co-teachers to a drink after dinner. However, we were all too exhausted from the trip and a whole day of training. We just went to sleep.
We did have our drinks the following evening.
The Good News
No, not just good news... great news! The BCH prices continue to rise. I badly needed some cash and the rising prices of BCH means, I now need only to sell a smaller portion of my BCH to have what I need in fiat.
The less than $10 worth of BCH that I have been holding in my ReadCash wallet since January grew to almost $40. The little BCH that I have been receiving for the past six months grew. Truly, patience pays off.
I wanted to sell some last Sunday, however, since I haven't used my CoinsPH for quite a while, I just learned that they changed the address format to BCH. I hesitated. My other option was to use GCash's GCrypto feature. Unfortunately, it was not working either. I guess it was a blessing in disguise.

The BCH price went to a mild roller coaster ride after it reached $220. The market capitalization dropped below 4 Billion. I supposed people are securing their profits at the time. If my assumption was correct, it will bounce back.
Spent Some Time With An Old-Time Friend and His Family
After the training, I decided to stay in Iloilo before going home. I went to a long-time friend whom I only came in contact with again recently after more than two decades. It was about 4 in the afternoon.
The funny thing is, the first thing that his grandson gave me as I entered their house is a bottle of beer! We spent a few hours catching up. After dinner, they gave me a lift to my brother's rented house. With a couple of boxes of stuff for my family.
Sold Some BCH
The next day, I went home after lunch. The following day decided to send some BCH to my CoinsPH wallet. They sent me a solution about the legacy format concern that I raised with them. The price was about $230.
By the time I was able to sell my BCH at $311. Not the top price for this week but good enough to cover my needs.
I need to pay my first credit card due this coming week and also some of my dues on GCredit.
I guess the best thing that happened during my birth week is the soaring price of BCH.
This is it for now... I still feel a bit sleepy but I need to go back working on my book.
Thanks For Reading!
