The Dyatlov Pass incident took place in 1959 in which nine Soviet hikers were mysteriously killed, and the mystery remains unresolved. The incident happened on the Kholat Syakhl mountain in the Ural mountain ranges in Russia.

Above is an image of one of the hikers hiking through the Dyatlov Pass.

The Mansi tribe (indigenous tribe) referred to these mountains as the Mountain of the dead. All nine bodies were found but in mysterious situations.

Two of the hikers broke their skulls and their ribs were broken. One of the hikers had his tongue, eyes and lips amputated from a fracture of his face and chest. Another notable discovery came when forensics reports came out that the clothes of these hikers were radioactive.

The forensic report also stated that the amount of force required to cause such fractures should be equal to the force of the car crash. It was also revealed that all the hikers left their tent at their own will and their tent was cut from the inside.

Most hikers are not well dressed, and some of them only have one shoe when they leave their campsite, which really shows that they are in some kind of haste.

There are many theories that have come to describe what can happen at the campsite:

  1. The indigenous people (Mansi tribe) attacked them because they were encroaching on their land: but this theory has also been withdrawn the nature of the attack is too strongly inflicted by any human being.

  2. Paranormal activities, people in another campsite only 50 km. the distance from Dyatlov Pass was reported to have seen orange orbs, believed to have a direct connection to the incident.

  3. Supernatural beings, another theory came to explain that hikers were killed by a Yeti.

  4. Hypothermia, which can cause hallucinations, and they may feel too hot (paradoxic effect of hypothermia)

  5. Radiation poisoning, another explanation that people try to give is that they suffered from radiation poisoning that they got when a secret government project fell (quite unlikely)

However, this mystery remains unsolved and the cause of their death is assumed and believed to be a Compelling Natural Force.

The truth is, even after so many years and so advances in science and technology, some things are still inexplicable.

The image of the group that went to Dyatlov Pass before beginning their journey without any of them hinted that it would end terribly.
