how I developed my skill for lucid dreaming

This is how I developed the skill for dreaming, the results were achieved in almost two months with a sharp increase time in the sixth month.

Establish the foundations

First of all make a conscious decision to remember your purpose every day, tell yourself a few times a day that tonight you will dream. I will not apply excessive pressure on yourself to the bad dream, instead; just focusing on the natural dream.

Dream journal

Most people struggle with this part because of time and / or effort. It does not have to be a long process, but it does matter. The moments after you wake up are the times when dreams are clearer. Grab your cell phone, open a notepad app or something similar. Write down a small paragraph that describes your dream. It can be as short or as long as you intend / may be disturbed. As long as it is enough to reminisce and remember, it is like reading a diary from your youth.

Remember the dream

Once a week view your journal entries and recreate the imagery of the dreams you have had in the past few days. Allowing your brain to build cohesion for your dream world, you should remember them as events that happen in ‘real life’ rather than when you are unconscious in a pool of your own drool.

Develop a trigger

A trigger is something engraved in your daily routine that seeks to convey the habit of moving into your sleep. A common one is your hands. At least five times daily take 30 seconds to view and analyze your hands. You do not have to be weird about touching them on your face like you have never seen them before.

Just study them temporarily, ask yourself if the look of your hands is strange if you are dreaming. Take a brief look around you each time and repeat the same question. I helped with this habit by drawing a small shape [mine is a triangle] at the base of my thumb, near my wrist. I will notice a lot of it throughout the day, which in turn will remind me of my purpose and daily routine. When it fades by showering / washing your hands etc., just return it.

Encourage stability

Before going to sleep; ask yourself to look at your hands, remind yourself of your purpose, limit your distractions while in bed. Turn off the TVs and electronics at least 30 minutes before bed.

We tend to dream about our daily events, even if they are subtly placed within a dream of a very different nature. Eventually you will look at your hands while you are in a awakened state, this will cause a familiar feeling. Your conscience will ask you through your habits, what would be strange if you were dreaming?

This will encourage stability.

Do not be discouraged if the first few times when you realize it you suddenly woke up or evacuated your dream. This is normal because it can be an overwhelming feeling at first. Keep it and as soon as you keep it, the skill is needed to dream well for a longer period of time.

I read journals of med students who use the rich world of dreams to practice surgical techniques, artists who create in their sleep and copy their awakening, musicians who write through the power of dreaming, even Buddhist monks who can control their dreams to the point of dreaming for an entire night.

It provides hundreds of questions about what is different from reality in the places you visit while sleeping. If the senses, past, present, conscience and personality constitute reality then I can tell you that the dream world cannot be different. It is only the imagination that can hinder the lucid from life.

Some quick tips if you are struggling to dream at first:

  • Set an alarm for a couple of hours before you normally wake up [do not worry you can turn it off directly] It only stimulates rapid eye movement and allows dreams to become more clear.

  • Eat well.

  • Exercise.

  • Relax, do not pressure yourself on it. This is detrimental to the cause.

Efforts to compare rewards are minuscule. Stability while dreaming can allow for a wealth of experiences and can be enlightening.

Make no mistake it is very difficult to control a dream, which will lead to some disappointment.
