I talked about Tawassul. How to make dua more powerful. For this I spoke of the prayer of Moses (peace be upon him). We learned that when we pray, we can talk about good deeds and the situation at that time.
Today we will talk about the Dua of Zakariyah. In verse 69 of Surah Ambiya, Allah says:
The translation of the verse is 'And remember Zachariah, when he called his Lord and said,' O my Lord! Don't leave me alone, you have the best ownership.
To make the dua stronger, we can put the beautiful name of Allah in the dua. Ya Gafur! Ya Shafi! Ya Gaffar! Ya Rahim! Ya Rahman! Wow! Ya Qarim! Ya Razzak! Ya Mannan! Hey Jabbar! O Sattar! In this way we can pray to Allah in the name of Allah. But if we can remember the meaning of these names, then we will be able to use the situation we will fall into and the name we will need to use.
These two words "Allahumma" and "Rabbana" are most used in Dua. "Allahumma" indicates that you are worshiping Allah. And "Rabbana" indicates that you believe in Allah as your Lord and that you surrender everything to Him. He will take care of you, feed you and so on. Then we got 3 elements of the door.
1) Mention good work.
2) Mention the position you are in.
3) Mentioning the beautiful name of Allah.
There is another element of Tawassul that is very risky and it deals with the future. It's like "Oh God! You give it to me, then I'll do it" like "Oh God! Give me money so I can be generous". Do you know why it is risky? Because you have given conditions here. And if you fail to meet that condition, you know what will happen to you! There is permission to say it in the door but if you can't fill up the condition then you are finished, you have broken the promise with Allah. Proof of this is the supplication of Moses (peace be upon him).
Moses prayed that God would appoint his brother Aaron as his partner, why? Because "so that we can recite your Tasbeeh more", and remember you more. [Twa-ha: 33-34]
So we have permission to say, O Allah! Give me wealth so that I may be generous. But it is very risky. The hypocrites in the Qur'an say that they wanted this, but when Allah gave it to them, they turned away and became arrogant.
Another aspect of tawassul that is not encouraged but is permitted is that a pious person prays to Allah on your behalf. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) prayed for others during his lifetime, such as for the conversion of Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) to Islam. But at present no one can take the place of the Prophet (peace be upon him). But our scholars have set some conditions in this case.
You can't stop praying for yourself. Because many people think that I am a sinner so my prayers will not be accepted but we should remember that Allah also accepted the prayers of the accursed Iblis. A previous scholar said that 'if Allah answers the prayer of Iblis, then you are not Iblis, you will also accept'.
A man came to Hasan-al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) and said, "My condition is bad. Please pray for me." He replied, "Your condition is bad. It means you need to pray for yourself first."
Then all we have to do while praying isāĻ
1) Mention good work.
2) Mention the position you are in.
3) Mentioning the beautiful name of Allah.
4) Mention it if the previous dua is accepted.
5) To make dua in front of the condition.
6) Ask for prayers for yourself from a pious person.
If we follow these, in sha Allah, we will be able to make our prayers stronger before Allah, may Allah grant us that grace, Amen.
Thank you.
