Hello guys,,Do you know about the the 3rd widest river in the world?.. Yes,the 3rd widest river in the world is the Gonga / Padma river which is located in Bangladesh❤ . The Padma River adds 1.3 million cusecs of water per second to the Bay of Bengal. However, after Chandpur, the river Padma is named Meghna. Its basin covers an area of 16 lakh square kilometers. Its length is 2604 km. There are two more fast flowing rivers in the world than Meghna / Padma - Amazon and Congo. No bridges have been built over the Amazon River, there are bridges across the Congo River. But the Padma bridge is being built on the main stream of the Padma.

Padma is a major river in Bangladesh. It is the main tributary of the Gangas in the Himalayas and the second longest river in Bangladesh. Rajshahi, an important city in Bangladesh, is located on the north bank of the Padma. The maximum depth of the Padma is 1,561 feet (489 m) and the average depth is 96 feet (295 m). King Rajballav's fame was destroyed in the face of the erosion of the Padma, so another name for the Padma is Kirtinasha.

The main tributary of the Ganges originates from the Gangotri Glacier in the Himalayas and enters Bangladesh in the Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district (Manakosa and Durlavpur Unions), from where the river takes the name Padma. The other branch of the Ganges called Bhagirathi flows towards Hughli in India. It joins the Jamuna River at Goalanda, 2200 km from its source, and joins the Meghna River at Chandpur district further east, called Padma.
