My Bitcoin Cash Journey Begins

My crypto journey started when I was working in the world of banking back in 2009. I was early in my career in wealth management and staying on top of new trends in the market was important to me. I'm also a technology buff, so a lot of the blogs I followed were in that space. That's where I first learned about Bitcoin. I was instantly attracted to the idea of a new currency and especially because I could mine it. I spent a weekend trying to set up my crappy laptop to be able to mine and let it run for a couple of days. When I checked in to see how many Bitcoins I successfully mined, there was nothing. I decided that this wasn't going to work and forgot about it.

Now there's no point in me thinking about the "What if" scenarios. So I've ventured back into the world crypto. I'm now more interested and confident that there is a future for crypto because the longer it sticks around, the more likely for it to live on. This is called the "Lindy effect".

Up until recently, I was dabbling in faucets and other ways to earn crypto without using fiat currency. It's not the most effective use of time to be honest (future article to come) but it's a fun way to get familiar with the whole economy of crypto without risking money.

I used to play a lot of poker back in the day so last week I decided to look into crypto poker sites. The first one I checked out happen to have a faucet function, where they start you off with a very small amount of coins; blockchain.poker (affiliate link). You can play for BCH or BTC, which you start with 100 or 50 satoshis respectively. This got me thinking, that I could scratch a couple of itches with this. I can play poker again and finally start to write for read.cash.
