It's All Your Fault

It took me a while to learn this lesson. I’m still working on it daily. Here’s the hard truth for a lot of people.

Everything that happens to you in your life is your fault.

Before you get emotionally worked up over this, consider the message, not the words.

The key word in my statement that would upset most is “fault.”  The reason for this would be the definition that you assign to the word.

And this where most hurt feelings come.

A misunderstanding of the meaning of a person's message due to the interpretation of the words said or written.

What if the meaning of the word “fault” is ‘open to blame : responsible’? Would you still disagree with the statement?

Perhaps you would. But let’s dig deeper. What if the definition of “responsible” is ‘being the cause or the explanation’?

Is the message getting a little more clear?

Let me rephrase the statement.

You are the cause or the explanation of all the good or bad that occurs in your life.

I share this message from a place of love and caring. You will feel more in control of your life once you understand this lesson.

I wouldn't say it's your fault, but you're the cause of your actions. You're responsible for what you do. For good deeds and for bad deeds.
