In 2010, Eminem dropped his music video for “Not Afraid”. The song in itself is nothing new; it’s just another one of his songs on themes about how he doesn’t care about stereotypes and he’s the best rapper in the world. It was the music video that took everyone by surprise.
The track is about rising above the negative things that happen in one’s life and becoming a better person. It asks you to, “Say you’ll never give up / Then rise above it all like the pony on your shirt.” In the video for this song, he shows how he rose above his struggles by being successful. He hit rock bottom and was able to pick himself back up with the support of his family, friends, and fans.
Eminem may not be a huge name in the rap industry these days, but he’s made his mark. He’s arguably the best rapper that has ever lived. That’s because he’s the best lyricist.

Eminem was born Marshall Mathers in St. Joseph, Missouri, on October 17th, 1972. The rap Genius was raised by his mother and never got the chance to meet his father. When he was 15 years old, his mother took her own life by overdosing on pills. Eminem started rapping at age 14 when his uncle gave him a tape of "Reckless".
A rapper who can use words in a manner that makes them rhyme, as well as fit into the rhythm of the song, is said to possess lyrical skills. He/she is also able to come up with words that flow. If you want to rap like Eminem, it doesn’t really matter if you can come up with a sick 16 bars on the spot. It’s not going to get you a job. It’s also not going to make you more money or help you get any closer to your goals.
