My personal opinion is that they suffer from some kind of syndrome, where they believe that they are isolated from society and they need these white lies to appear important in the eyes of others. I had a friend in high school that everyone lived near her house. If I said that a man lived in my neighborhood who did a specific job, then she would immediately say that someone who did exactly the same thing lived next to her house, even sometimes better. Incredible but true. This reached a point where it was almost impossible to talk to her since that phrase always came in every sentence. Believing that you are right about something, that you are superior, that life revolves around you, will only lead you to oblivion in a short time. People will notice that you want to stand out at any cost and will push you away. No one is foolish enough to be carried away by mere words and boasts. We are already able to realize that you are lying to us, so you better not try. The truth above all. If I'm not right, if I don't know the answer to those questions, it's better to ask than to spend your life ignoring them, or trying to reinvent the wheel. There are people who prefer to spend days trying to solve a problem and don't ask anyone. However, the answer is so simple that someone else solves it in minutes. But ego and self-sufficiency did not let you move forward. **What I don't know, I ask. I live by asking, knowing cannot be a luxury.** There is nothing wrong with trying to improve, with growing and learning something new and novel every day. When you think you know them all, then failure is totally guaranteed. Even a person who cleans the streets can give you some injuries for life and you should listen to them, instead of walking past them and not even saying good morning.

I love this topic. I know three people who have this kind of attitude. The people who know it all and when you shared something it happened to them before, always happened before you. I don't believe them but I nod at them. When they are not around, I blurted out a big laugh because they have problems of their own.

I always see people that think highly of themselves as having mental issues, there might be something wrong with them in the head to make them always behave that way. About people that spend days trying to solve a problem, I believe it actually makes them a better learner. If you try to figure out a problem and you finally do after a while, there's a great feeling that comes with it. But it becomes an issue when you can't solve the problem but still refuse to ask for help

I agree, it's better to simple. There are a lot of people will admire you. I am a quiet person but I observe the others. I don't understand their attitude and behaviors. In my mind, I always remind myself that simplicity is the best.

I met some of those people in my life, who know everything better, than anybody else. I just listen and say something similar to what you gave as a title of your post. I agree some people just want to have a deeper conversation in any topic to show you they know everything, but if you just kind of try to avoid the connection, they go crazy.
People, especially those with great pride (in a negative way) can never even learn to accept criticism. Once they made up their mind that they are right, no one can ever change that. Just a waste of time to talk it out to them.
