October 24, 2021. No. 45
It has cost me a lot to decide to write an article referring to Cuba, due, of course, to all the media press that exists, which in some cases like to speculate much more than reality. I do not like to talk about politics and although I will touch on some points regarding it, I hope that if your criteria are not similar to mine, you will respect my way of thinking. Without further ado, here we go.
It all began in 1492 when Cristobal Colon touched Cuban land and expressed: "This is the most beautiful land human eyes have ever seen". From there began a series of events that shape the history of Cuba. Spanish colonization for years until the war for independence began in 1862, with Carlos Manuel de Cespedes at the head. Many more years, and we went from Spain to the United States, who from that moment seemed to like us, and have made life impossible for us ever since. On January 1, 1959, the Cuban Revolution triumphs, and to this day, it remains standing.
A few years later, the United States(US) applies an embargo on the island, preventing Cuba from freely trading with all other countries. Obviously, you can do operations of various kinds, but everything becomes much more complex. Banks do not want to accept your transactions for fear of retaliation from the US and to be able to do them, it has to be through third parties, making operations more expensive. If you are going to buy products that have a % material or something that is from the US, you cannot do it. Imagine what it is like to live if your closest neighbor is a power in all spheres and does not let you get ahead, preventing all the other neighbors from even looking at you.
Cuba is Socialist, and it seems that it bothers them that we are. The only thing we want is to live in peace and to have our desire for self-determination respected. That they finish removing the blockade, which for more than 60 years has been imposed on us. If they want so much to show the world that Socialism does not work, then why does it do the impossible to suffocate us economically? Even President Trump put in place more than 200 new measures before leaving the White House. Even in the middle of the pandemic, when the world had to help itself, even more, he was trying to suffocate Cuba even more. A few days ago I heard something that I don't know exactly where it came from, but it said less like this: “If your neighbor blocks your house from the outside, where you and your family stay inside, with the few provisions they have. After a few days, you don't have any more supplies, but you can't go out because they are blocking your door from the outside. You manage to go out the smallest window that exists in the house, to look for food. Just a little and without being seen, and then you distribute it among all. After a while, everyone in the house will begin to protest because they do not have food or fundamental issues to survive. And add that from minute one, your neighbor from outside is shouting that you do not know how to run your house and that you are incapable, that your management model does not work. But he will never refer to the fact that he was the one who started this problem. As if he was not involved in anything". Every year a vote is held by the UN to ask for the end of the blockade against Cuba. Year after year about 99% of the countries vote in favor of eliminating it, abstain from voting one or two, and vote against just the US and some other country. But nothing happens. The US seems to believe they own the planet. As simple as that.
Despite everything, Cuba advances and does not stop. In the middle of the covid-19 pandemic, he sent dozens of doctors to Turin, Italy. Where it was at an epicenter of the pandemic and they developed an excellent work of humanity there. Saving lives, no matter where you are from, what country, race, religion, or if you are rich or poor, we serve everyone equally. Cuba has helped dozens of countries in health matters, not only now, but forever.
Cuban scientists managed to present 5 vaccine candidates against covid-19. Of those 5, 3 have already been approved. "Abdala" with more than 92% efficiency preventing critical cases and death. "Sovereign" and "Sovereign Plus" with more than 91% efficiency as well. They are the first vaccines in Latin America. They were recently ratified in their efficiency by Iran, after carrying out their study with our vaccines in their population. We are vaccinated in a 3-dose schedule, separated by a certain time according to the vaccine. By the end of November, more than 90% of the population will be vaccinated in Cuba. This means that approximately at the beginning of the year 2022, and all of Cuba is vaccinated against Covid-19. Pregnant women and children are already getting vaccinated too. All previous studies show that it is completely safe. The first country in the world to vaccinate its children. The impact of having the population almost to the point of being fully vaccinated is evidenced daily with the decrease in cases. It seems that the light is shimmering at the end of the tunnel.
Maybe you want to talk about costs. Well, everything I have told you is completely free. Health is a universal right, and I never understand or understand how it is possible to charge for it. Here it is completely free to go to consultation because a tooth hurts, or to enter an operating room, whether it is to open your head or chest for a heart transplant. You don't have to pay a penny. Neither treatment nor hospitalization, absolutely nothing. Doctors treat you, no matter what your symptoms or complications, with the best treatment. I have studied the system of other countries. I know that you can pay taxes or monthly medical insurance, which covers up to certain expenses. So when you go to the doctor, you already have insurance to back you up. I am not talking about this. I'm talking about the idea, that it doesn't matter if you got hit or not, since it shouldn't matter. My son has been in this situation for years. We have been admitted to multiple hospitals. Almost a dozen tests have been carried out with advanced equipment and right now an intravenous serum is applied, which when I looked for it on YouTube, I saw a young woman who had put it on. The cost of the serum for the young woman was extremely high, but my son would be enormous: Thank you.
The education is also absolutely free. There are no private or public schools, only schools, and universities. Everyone has the same opportunity to study whatever career you set out to do, at any university. The sky is the limit for you. Your dedication and effort will make you enter the career or not when it is time to take entrance exams. So I studied at the university, 5 wonderful years. From the 5 years that I started in preschool until I graduated, they had spent 18 years of study, completely free, and that ended with me being an engineer.
A few days ago, @PVMihalache mentioned that he wanted to visit Cuba by 2025. The decision could not be more accepted. Tourism throughout the Island is a wonderful adventure. I have had the opportunity to go to the beach in Varadero. Incredible, the sand, the sun, the sweetness of the beach. Many say that it is the best beach on the planet. When many say it, it is because it should not be a lie. You will enter a country, where gambling, prostitution, weapons in the street, or drugs do not exist. All this is strictly prohibited. Security on the streets is such that you can walk anywhere even at night without fear of anything happening to you. There is no such violence that may exist in other countries. Although you should always be careful and clear common sense this, as a general rule nothing happens. You can enjoy with friends or with your partner sitting on the Malecon in Havana during the early morning and then leaving for your home.
Cuba is not perfect, it is far from it. But he works day after day to perfect his Socialism. Despite its limitations, it works to get ahead. We have received help from various countries in the last few months. It has been delivered to each family in an orderly manner throughout the length and breadth of the Island. Grateful to those who want to build bridges of love and not hate. Those who want the best for our people and not divide us. Hatred only generates more hatred and corrupts human beings.
If you want to visit Cuba, you can learn about the various tourist places and hotels by using this link. I recommend you, if your budget in BCH gives it, as I hope it will be so in the not too distant future, that if you can, take a trip throughout the island. Knowing its main destinations. There are packages that do that in a short period of time. Then, you end up in Varadero, if you are one of those who like the beach. If it is not to your liking, you can always return to the capital of the country, Havana, and continue enjoying the many destinations that you can visit.
That's it for today folks. I hope you liked it and gave you a bit of knowledge about Cuba. If you have already visited it or know it before, let me know in the comments. Don't forget to leave thumbs up if you liked this article.

You put it as if everything was the fault of the embargo and everything was fine in Cuba apart from that, as if the Cuban government was not totalitarian and crushed any different thought, as if hundreds of thousands of Cubans had not fled because of the repression by the protests of July 11, 2021. As if the hospitals weren't unhealthy and almost without medicines or as if the majority of the schools weren't on the verge of collapse and without school supplies. Wow, for a moment I felt like reading an article in Cubadebate, where everything is perfect and the bad things are exclusively the fault of the economic embargo.
