Smartphones make people stupid
Since the inception of smartphones into our world, a lot of things have been made easier for people. The advantage of communication with people all over the world is not to be underrated. You can make money by just operating your smartphone the right way. There are other loads of advantages. One cannot deny that smartphones has made life easier for everyone
Just as there are perks of using a smartphone, there are also dangers or rather disadvantages associated with it. The addictiveness to the smartphone gadget is something almost everyone experience. I hope you understand it when I say that smartphones tend make people stupid.
The best time to see how stupid smartphones has made people is when driving or walking along the road. You begin to see different kinds of smartphone stupidity. There is always that person whose focus while walking will be on his phone. Even when crossing the road, he does not take time off that phone to check for oncoming vehicles. This has contributed to lots of pedestrian-driver accidents. Isn't that another height of stupidity leading to harm?
Let's not forget those people who get carried away by the so-called music they are playing and thus begin to shout while walking on the road. Isn't that upcoming madness? Why on earth will you be walking and screaming. The weird looks of "isn't he stupid?" that you will get.
There is also bound to be a driver that would either be pressing phone in his vehicle and claim not to have seen other road users after hitting them. The last time I almost got hit by a vehicle was due to this negligence. I just crossed the road on my way to school. There was a car parked behind me. The next I looked back, the driver was already reversing with speed. I was lucky enough to have noticed in time and jumped out of the way. He still did not stop. Other passersby had to stop and tell him that he almost killed someone's daughter. He was like, "sorry I was on my phone. I couldn't look back". How ridiculous.
Some people have even graduated to the school of dancing on the road, swaying from one side to the other.
These are the things that we undeniably see on our roads today. Even the accidents that occur as a result of this stupidity has not taught smartphone users any lesson.
Take a look at your neighborhood as well. Even inside our homes. I'm sure that 90% of us have siblings that are over addicted to their phones. You can sell them in their very presence but the will not know because they are too busy with their phones. Most times they end up playing addictive games.
Isn't it better to use our smartphones in a way that would benefit everyone around you. While walking on the road, put it in your pocket or bag. Your phone is not running away. Allot a specific time for it so as not to end up among those who use it stupidly. Do not let your smartphone control you. Control your smartphone.
