Superstition in Wedding
Introduction
As a Filipino, we known for being superstitious we always believed in different kind of beliefs because it is part of our culture and tradition it called 'Pamahiin' in our country. And did you know that there's also a superstitious beliefs when you are prepare for your wedding day? Who among us don't want our wedding day to become the most special day for us, we do everything that we can just to make sure that we will make our wedding day memorable.
In this article, I want you to know different kind of superstition in wedding if it is bad or good for you. And in the end I want to know about your own opinion about it.
Let's start!
1. Meeting you soon-to-be wife/husband before your wedding day.
As a partner we always wanted to see and to be together with our soon to be wife/groom everytime but It is prohibited to meet your partner before your wedding day, they said that it can cause danger or it can postpone or the worst is to stop your wedding day for some reason and they also believe that not meeting your partner can make your relationship with your partner more stronger.
2. You only wear your wedding gown on your wedding day.
For a bride the gown is the highlight of our outfit in our wedding day, it is once in our lifetime to wear such a beautiful gown. But ! Fitting your own wedding gown is a big big 'no' why? Because your wedding might not push through. So always check your size and your wedding gown size to make sure that there's no need to worry about.
3. 'Sukob'
We love our sibling, of course we did! If we can be with our siblings forever we do that. But did you know that in our country we believe in 'sukob' where a siblings is getting married in the same year got a bad luck in there lifetime(except the double wedding)? That if they do married in the same year the luck will be divided to them, the one will be the luckiest and the one is getting the bad luck for their whole life. They said that you need to wait until next year if you want to getting married, so always check the date of your wedding day and talk it with your siblings.
4. Losing or dropping your wedding day during your wedding day.
Your wedding ring is the sign of your love and sincerity to your partners and once you put it on your finger there's no turning back, but did you know that if you lose it or even dropping it during your wedding day means you will have a bad or unhappy married life it might be the sign to think twice before you said the magic word 'I do' to your partner. Always check that the person who will bring your wedding rings is very carefully that he/she will don't drop it or lose it.
5. First bite
Cake is the main dessert in wedding day like it's sweet taste cake symbolizes of fertility and if the bride wants to have safe delivery in her pregnancy she need to take the first bite of the wedding cake.
6. Arinola as the Gift
Arinola or chamberpot in English send as a gift to the newly weds because it will bring good luck to the both giver and newly weds.
Im not married yet but I dream to experience to get married with someone I really really love and to the right person who will accept the whole me, the person who will not be may partner in life but the person who will make me feel special everyday, the person who always there for me and the person who will protect our future family. Me ? I believe in this kind of superstition, there nothing to lose if I will follow some of this if I got married someday, I just want to make my wedding day to become more memorable and my marriage life to become happy and strong.
