"Kano Has The Best Pilgrims Welfare Board in the Country," Says NAHCON
National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) describes and commends Kano for being a state with the best Pilgrims Welfare Board in the country, and vowed to make Hajj more affordable to Muslims in the country.
The assessment was made by the Executive Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Zikirullah Kunle Hassan, when he paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during the Council meeting, held at Governor's Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, Monday.
Hassan assured the Commission's commitment towards working very closely with the state government to improve Pilgrims welfare, adding that, "Kano is key to us when it comes to Hajj operation in the country."
In his response governor Ganduje said "Kano is home to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). This is because, historically Kano is the nucleus of Hajj Commission in the country."
After reminding how Kano people were going to Hajj on horse back, he assured that, "The state will continue to work hand in hand with the Commission all the time."
"Unfortunately last year there wasn't Hajj operation because of the global pandemic of COVID-19. All those who wanted their money back have collected their monies. And those who wanted their money to be with the State Pilgrims Welfare Board for future use, are also taken care of," he said.
