It's still a long day for the first rice harvest. The farmers who went to harvest our rice are still cooking the meals that will be shared later. They butchered a pig and now slicing and setting aside their shares. While waiting for the meat to be cooked, they're preparing to cook and barbecue their appetizer for their drinks later. That's the fun after a day's hard work. We do traditional harvesting of rice. So the farmers are tired after. From manually cutting each rice stalk/straw then tie a handful to make a bundle. After all's been gathered, they travel by foot to put it in the rice granary. They've been doing this in rotation (bayanihan-like), so when it's my cousin's time to lead, my father asked him to harvest our crops. I think they'll be paid, or just my cousin. They're strong people, but due to the weather change here, some of them has flu. Hope they get well the soonest though. The picture below's how they do it here in our village. (Have seen them naturally flexed muscles when I went to check them at our rice granary, hahaha.)
