Be cautious of known friends

Friends are believed to be a very important part of our existence. Hardly is there any human without friends.

While some have many friends, many try to reduce the number to friends that matters.

As a person, i limit my friends to just 3. My reasons are simple, i just want those that can add value and being an introvert, it gives me time to think and reflect on my own.

Part of why we keep friends is for them to be there when we need them most and help in time of problem.

It's not necessarily for problems but it is during these trying times that you get to see their true colors and understand who is actually your true friend and who is just keeping face.

There are cases where human beings are in dire need and call on friends to share their burden but they often disappoint.

There is a possibility that this is due to life struggle since we are all hustling to survive and be somebody in life. But when a friend is seriously in need, there is a need to squeeze every resources to assist in any little capacity that we think we can.

Having said that, we need to be cautious of known friends. That you know a friend doesn't mean he or she wants the best for you.

In fact, there is always this envy that surrounds friendship. The reasons for the envy are mostly not founded on logic but friends, often times do silly things borne out of envy.

The weary part boils down to the reality concerning friends we know and think we truly know but only keep facial expression to appear as friends.

There are cases of friends kidnapping friends, cases of friends selling friends to ritualists (as Africans), cases of friends backbiting another friends, cases of friends snatching each others lovers.

There are also cases where one trust a friend one has known for long with huge money and the friend disappeared with it.

Many have fallen with no possibility of risen because they trusted friends.

Friends could either make or mar you but most of them destroy human lives. This is why in Christendom, they say Christ is your only true friend.

As an advise, be cautious, watchful and pick friends if you must have any. Best thing is to not keep any at all. This sounds impossible but those that have been truly dealt with by friends learnt the hard way and would tell you never to trust any friends.

Be watchful and trust your maker alone.
