Did you already watch the k-drama entitled The Penthouse: War in Life? If you haven't watched it yet, I suggest add it on your own list.

The Penthouse: War in Life is a South Korean television series starring Kim So-yeon (as Cheon Seo-jin and is married to Ha Yoon-cheol and they have a daughter namely Ha Eun-byul), Lee Ji-ah (as Shim Su Ryeon and is married to Joo Dan-tae, she has 4 child and only one of them is her biological child), Eugene (Oh Yoon-hee's character in the series, she has a child namely Bae Ro-na) Um Ki-joon (plays the role of Joo Dan-tae, he is a wealthy character molded by his bad deeds. He has two children namely Joo Seok-kyung and Joo Seok-hoon) Yoon Jong-hoon (Ha Yoon-cheol, he is the husband of Cheon Seo-jin) and Park Eun-seok (plays the character of Logal Lee in the series).

The series, directed by Joo Dong-min and written by Kim Soon-ok, spins the story of a real estate and education war, a desire to be number one. It depicts the solidarity and revenge of women who turned to evilness to protect themselves and their children. It premiered on SBS TV on October 26, 2020.

Penthouse tells the story of wealthy families living in Hera Palace and their children at Cheong-ah Arts School. Shim Su-ryeon (Lee Ji-ah) is an elegant, wealthy woman who has a tragic past. Her husband is Joo Dan-tae (Uhm Ki-joon), a successful businessman. She later learns that he is hiding a secret from her. Her husband killed her lover and replace her daughter with another child (baby switching is quite a problem).

How do we protect our loved ones? Do we really need to do wicked things just to protect them? Will they be happy if they will know it? Cuz eventually, you can't hold a secret. It will surely be discovered one day.

Upon protecting your loved ones, you shouldn't do wicked things for it will literally back fire on you. Your loved ones will not be happy too. You'll just make them believe that it's okay to crampled someone's dignity and they'll definitely live in that line of living. Wherein, they no longer knows how does it feel to have conscience and doesn't know how to differentiate what's right and wrong. Cuz you planted a wrong beliefs in their mind. That everything they do is right cuz they are highly recognized people in the community. I hope, an event like this doesn't happen in reality. Cuz it will really be too sad.

This series also tells a lot about inferiority complex. The American Psychological Association (APA) defines an inferiority complex as “a basic feeling of inadequacy and insecurity, deriving from actual or imagined physical or psychological deficiency.”

Insecurities will lead you to do evil things just to satisfy your wants. The desire to go up, above the person you feel insecure of. The funny thing is, no matter what you do to make yourself feel more powerful than that person, you will not succeed. Since you are imprisoned to that mindset of yours, wherein you don't want to focus on your own growth instead you keep on comparing yourself and get yourself hurt by that person you feel insecurity. You are making yourself go too low with that mindset of yours. You are creating your own fantasy and is avoiding your reality. By that, your living will surely be crampled as well.

Additionally, the season 1 of the series ends with a cliff-hanger wherein Shim Sur-yeon which died in the previous episode of Season 1, can be seen walking in the penthouse of Hera Palace. It will make you feel excited to the core.

I will also write an article about the season 2 after I'll finished watching it. 😊
