Being a good child amidst distractions in the university
Checking through my page, you will discover that I've started this university series for a while now and I will like to be focusing today on the several kinds of distractions in the university and how to handle them and still maintain the good girl/boy you are from your parents house.
It's no longer news that there have been so many bad happenings in the universities of recent, taking a deep look at the causes of these happenings, we can say some of these things happened as a result of distraction from the ultimate reason they were in the university in the first place. For instance;
*There was this particular news that surfaced recently, it is the story of a guy who allegedly took drugs in order to have 11 hours marathon s*x with his girlfriend, they both agreed to it and now they are both dead because they couldn't both bear it I supposed. Imagine this kind of stupid thing, how can the both of them just decide to die all in the name of pleasure, it is such a pity! You can clearly see that in this case, it is distraction that caused their untimely death, if they have focused on the main reason they came into the university, they wouldn't have both been dead by now.*
There are series of distraction and intimidation in the university today, thanks to @Olasquare for bringing my attention to it in one of my comment section. Distractions are meant to happen and even sometimes, it can lead us into the state of despair and we just feel like we are worthless, imagine seeing your friends with different kinds of iPhone and it looks as if you are the only one still using Android phone among them, there is no doubt that you will feel intimidated especially when they start snapping with their phones, they might even want to introduce you to one of their internet fraudster boyfriend so they can link you up to their friends, you have a very big role to play to refuse this kind of offer, you should not let all these get to you, be able to stand your ground. Let us take a look at some of the reasons why people fall through distraction;
Excessive love for money
Greed and covetousness
Discontentment
Bad companies
Undefined goals
Earthly pleasure and satisfaction
All these above points revolve around the last point which is earthly pleasure and satisfaction. Everyone who is looking to derive earthly pleasure and satisfaction in university should be able to work tirelessly for it, majority of people does not want to work but they want to enjoy life, it's not done! Let's also take a look at the number of things distraction can lead to:
Rituals
Prostitution
Kidnappings
Internet frauds (Yahoo Yahoo in my country 😁)
Robberys
Killings
Cultism
It's getting too rampant these days with the series of death that is happening, people are now dieing like chicken. Can't people just focus on their real goal and strife to achieve it, yes I know the country is in a state of despair but we don't have to loose hope, even children nowadays want to make quick money, we really have a lot of things to do. I've also have my own share of distraction and I will be sharing below.
*During my first semester in the university, I met with a girl who live in the next flat to my flat, she this reserved babe, she breathes wealth but I always thought she was from a wealthy family. She was nice and so we got talking, anytime I'm bored, I will go over to hers and vice versa, it was going so well and I really appreciated our friendship. One day, her mom came visiting and looking at the way her mom is dressed, you can tell that she's not really the person I think she is because she was dressed like someone from an humble background. From that day, I started feeling suspicious, I start to imagine where she gets all the money she spends from.*
*Somehow, I got to know that her and her friends were into runs, they normally see all this big politicians who in turn gives them plenty money, they would occasionally tell me to join them that I will get to meet great people in the society who can easily help me with anything I need in the country. They will buy the latest phones, human hairs, clothes, shoes and so many other things. I almost got distracted with these things but one thing that held me was my defined goals, I knew I have so much to achieve in the future if I don't let their attitude get to me. So want I did was simple, I pray alot for God's upholding, I moved totally out of the house and I avoided her completely. Through this, I was able to overcome the distraction*.
With my own story above, I hope I've been able to encourage someone who is thinking of compromising and I don't also want to list the things you can do in order to overcome distraction because you have different approach to different forms of distractions so just look for what works for you and make do of it. God will help us!

My first day experience in the University
After so many years of seeking admission into the university, I finally got admitted one faithful year. I could remember the scenerio that played out during those times, I've been checking the jamb portal for quite sometime to see if I've been given admission infact I have been checking since I discovered that the first batch of admitted student list is out but my own admission status kept on showing"not admitted" even for the fact that I was very optimistic about the whole admission thing.
When I heard that the 2nd batch of admission is out, I quickly took my phone and logged in to the jamb portal to check again then I saw "not admitted" again. At this point, I started to get worried because I couldn't even bear spending one more year at home anymore considering the years I've spent at home before. So put a call through to brother friend of mine and he told me to first check my school admission portal to see if there's any info there which I did, I checked the School portal and I saw my admission status to be "admitted". That moment, my joy knew no bounds, I thought I was dreaming so I went back to the jamb portal and I refreshed the page, then it wrote "admission in progress" I was so happy. It later changed to "admitted" at about a week later.
I started packing my loads with so much energy, if you read in my post What I thought university life was VS What it is actually you will understand that kind of energy you'll have after so much anticipation to enter into the university. The time finally came when we were to resume, since our orientation would be starting on Monday, I set out for school on Sunday morning around 6am and I got to school around 3pm, it was such a stressful journey. At that time, I haven't sorted out accomodation so I basically have nowhere to stay so I spoke with a particular lecturer I know from my church before coming to school, he already helped me secure a place to stay for the main time before arriving school that day. Getting to school that day was quite stressful, I took a vehicle pass the junction I was supposed to drop to the junction of the school, I didn't know the lecturer's house was before we get to the school junction so I had to trek a mile back to the lecturer's house.
When I got to the lecturer's house, he took me to the place I would be staying for the main time which was one lecturer wife's house, the woman was quite nice and entertaining, the two days I spent in her house was great. After resting for that day, I took my bag and went to the campus, I just want to see how the school look like and also to secure an accommodation, I went around for a while and also looked for accommodation but couldn't find any that suit my taste and purse so I went back home, I ate and went to bed waiting for tomorrow's event.
The second day was our medical examination day so I left for school very early in the morning and I got there around 7am that our medical examination was to start, student were quite much and we were to form a straight line, it took a while before the medical could reach my side, I had stood for almost 2 hours and it finally reached my side, I was tested and then I left to secure an accommodation which I later got and I went back to the lecturer's house later contemplating on how stressful my day have been and wondering if it's always going to be like this. Looking at the fact that I've always thought university life would less stressful but now I discovered that one has to queue for long hours for every single thing one has to do in the university, oh boy, I wasn't told o😂. I later left to my papa's house and came back when school don resume fully.

Why winners win and losers lose (part 2)

**Winners encounter success along the way while losers look for success at the bottom line.**
Before it gets to the end of a project, winners will already have being experiencing success and they would have even known that they've won already while losers will still be looking out for success at the end of a finished project, a drawn line when all hopes have already been dashed.
**Winners get curious after every challenge while losers gets discouraged after every challenge.**
Anytime winners sees something and they don't understand it, they gets so curious and wants to know more, they would want to understand why the challenge had to happen but losers on the other hand gets discouraged at every slight challenge, they don't care to know why it had to happen the way it did.
**Winners work to make a difference while losers work to make money.**
I'm not saying that winners don't want to make money as well but they don't make getting money their priority, all they want to do is to create solutions that could change the world and then money comes easily after this but losers only wants to make money without solving needs.
**Winners provide solution while losers just stare at the problem.**
Like I said in the above point, winners are naturally solution providers, if you must win, you must be able to provide solutions for problem, you must be able to look around and search everywhere for solutions but for losers, all they do is just to stare at the problem and be waiting for the person that solve the problem, they won't even take a step at solving the problem.
**Winners communicate while losers talk.**
While addressing people, winners communicate by breaking everything they have to say into pieces for the better understanding of the people. They let their hearts out while talking and they don't just speak because they have to say something but rather, they speak because they have something to say. Losers only talk because they just have to say something and do not know how to communicate to people for better understanding.
**Winners are paid for the result produced while losers are paid for their time spent.**
Winners always make sure to produce result and they thereby gets paid for the result they produce while losers only gets paid because of the time they spend on something, they never produce result.
**Winners prepare themselves for unforseen circumstances while losers never prepare**
Winners always know that everyone isn't perfect and everything might not go as planned so they try and prepare themselves for the unexpected situations that may arise in the future but losers are bound to think that things would always go the way they planned it and expect some certain outcomes so they never prepare for the future.
**Winners use their free time learning while losers waste their free time.**
While winners are busy learning and experiencing new things, losers are there wasting their time on useless and senseless things.
**Winners live their life based on their past lessons while losers live their life in the past.**
Since winners learn new things each day, they have great lessons from things that happened in their past and they now live their present life as a result of the lessons they've learnt from their past, they never repeat the mistakes they've made in their past but losers live their present life in regrets of the mistakes they made in the past and they allow that control their present life.
**Winners deliver while losers sell.**
Winners always care about delivering the exact product or rendering the very service their customer needs to the satisfaction of their customer while losers only sell their products to people without caring if their customers needs were met.
**Winners put together all their small victories while losers wants to get the big victory at once.**
Winners understands the concept of winning and they know that they can't have it all at once so they add up their small victories little by little until it becomes a big one but losers wants everything on a platter of gold, they want to have it all at once.
**Winners smile always while losers frown always.**
Because winners win always, they tend to smile always and because losers lose always, they tend to frown always.

"What I thought university life was" VS "What it is actually"
University to me while growing up seem like a place of freedom, a place where you get to enjoy life the way you want, a place where you get to make so many friends and mingle with them as much as you want to. I guess because of the way I see it shown on TV especially in those Nollywood movies😂. It always look as if the students were enjoying life so much and they were not even witnessing any form of hardship even if it's "preparing for an exam" , so funny.😂
As I was growing up, I usually dream of how my life would be in the university, how u would enjoy myself and everything would keep coming on a platter of gold. I would also dream of how I will walk into the lecture room majestically and sit anywhere I want to without having to rush anything but I guess the all that was just a dream and it's ends in being just a dream.😂
I once had these aunties back then in my basic classes that also made me believe that university life is a very easy life because of their approach to it. They would come back home after a session or semester break looking all good with so many nice and new dresses and it will look to me like the clothes were been shared freely in their school. They would also start gisting about the things that happened in their school and how much fun it was, they would also say they don't even want to come home again because university life is so interesting.
I anticipated entering into the university for so long even when I just gained admission into high school. I would always tell my sister that I can't wait to enter the university so I can get to see how much interesting university life can be.
I also remember having one corper back in those high school days teaching us English language, she would tell us that she preferred high school life to university life because in high school, you have no worries, all you do is rely on your parents for everything and they will provide, she also said you get to make more genuine friends also things are less stressful but university life is quite different from that because you get so stressed out with every single activities on campus, you've got a lot of worries like what to eat, what to wear, what to buy etcetera.. also you get to cope with intimidation and alot more. Can you guess what everyone said to her? We all echoed "WE PREFER UNIVERSITY LIFE" She just shooked her head and said "WHEN WE GET THERE, WE WILL KNOW".
I can tell you now that everything she said was so true because it's like that's what I'm going through now, it's really eating me up. University life has not been so easy so far, I have to cope with a lot of things even intimidation from friends is not left out not even these days that majority of girls now date internet fraudsters and they will start using the latest iPhone. Maybe it would have been better if that's just it but no, they will always want you to join them, oh boy, it's not easy! One major thing I also battled with is being independent, it's then I know that staying on your own is not easy o; paying bills, buying foodstuffs and not being able to eat half of it without other students joining you😂. I also battled alot with stress, OMG! Stress almost took my life out that I became like a broom especially in my first year 😂. Also, to talk of doing assignments, finishing projects, attending lectures, impromptu tests, writing exams, making researches amongst others. It's a whole lot of thing!
I can now boldly tell you that university life is not really the way it seems, though you truly get to meet more people, you get to learn more about life and also get to build up yourself but trust me, if you are not mentally or emotionally balanced, I tell you that university life (especially public universities) is not for you. If you can't make your own decisions and stand by it, you will easily get swayed by the fancy lifestyles on campus.
`I would also like to share the experience I had during my first day in the university and also some of the the other things that happened in the university with you but I guess I would do that subsequently in my other articles.`

He finally proposed
Good day my wonderful readcash family, so sorry I'm writing this late, I should have written something since morning but couldn't because I've been feeling down for quite sometimes now but I'm glad I feel better now and could write.
He finally proposed and he would be becoming my step father soon💃💃 .. well I'm not the one proposed to, it's my mother, sounds weird right? I know 😁. My mother will be getting married soon, what a joyful day it's gonna be, I'm looking forward to that beautiful day my mom will tie the knot again with her lover.
Since I lost my dad 2 years back, my mom has become so lonely and it has really gotten to her. Alot of things has been affected in her life even has health has deteriorated and it's really alarming, I've taught over it and concluded that her getting married again would completely solve all this issue and then she met this well to do gentle looking man, he looks quite ok for a person of his age, I know he would have looked so handsome during his youthful age but not as handsome as my dad though 😁. He seems quite good for my mum because with the little I've seen with the two love birds, they seem to love each other. I've always dreamt of a nice, godly, reserved, caring and loving man for my mum and now, I think I've found exactly what I wanted. He possesses this qualities and even more.
There's this man that usually come around, he used to be my dad's friend and he as well lost his wife some years back. So when my dad died, he started coming to our place very often, at first I thought he was just been caring to his late friends family but I later realized that he is just trying to get acquainted to the family so that when he family becomes the step father, we would accept him so well, funny enough he didn't know that trick won't work on us😁.
He had this bad behavior and I so much dislike him, anytime he comes around, he would always want us to prepare swallow food for him (wetin we no dey even always prepare for our father) he usually feels like he has a certain right over us and he would also be asking stuffs from my mother like some sort of golddigger, gosh! My mum didn't even give him face, we just lost our father and all care about is us preparing a nice meal for him without even dropping any amount. When others are coming and they are concerned about our state of living since we have no father anymore, he would come without even feeling concerned about how we are coping but instead wants to even collect out of the one we have, isn't that selfishness? Well, we didn't all like him and he saw this too so he had to stop coming.
Sorry for diving away from the main topic, I just felt to chip that in. So back to my story, we would be planning a big wedding in our house soon, I can't wait.☺️ My mum deserve every good thing that is coming her way now cause she has really been through so much and she deserves to be happy now. Though she said she wanted a small wedding but we all wanted a big wedding, what are we going to do now?
`Note: This is just a fiction writing and was born out of my imaginary thought😁. I so wanted my mum to remarry truly so she can be happy once again but I guess she will never remarry because it's her decision and I really respect her decision.`

Weird and funny questions to answer
I picked this article from @Aimure ofcourse with his permission, he did his and I love it so much so you can check it out here, it was so lovely. I will be answering the same questions in my today's article, I was supposed to have written a new article since yesterday but I have no been feeling so fine for a while now and I don't even want to without publishing an article today so I decided to also answer these questions so I guess this is a life saver.
I will be answering the questions below;
**Get even or get over it?**
I've always not been the type to get even with people, I always prefer getting over it. Though if something really hurting happen to you, you might feel like getting even with the person because all you will ever want is to revenge and revenging only shows you are trying to get even with the person. So as for me, I don't react at that particular minute, I wait for some and I will discover that I've gotten over it and I'm already moving on.
**Have no internet or no phone?**
This question is so tricky and confusing, I don't even know which to pick at first but I think I will pick having no internet cause as much as majority of the stuff I'm doing with my phone, I do them with internet but still there are some other things u can do with my phone without internet so I will pick having no internet.
**Be invisible or read minds?**
I would prefer to be invisible because I will be able to escape when some certain issues arises, you know what I mean my fellow Nigerians 😁. I might as well like to be able to read minds too especially when someone is plotting evil against you but I cherish my peace of mind so much because I know that the moment you start reading people's mind, your peace of mind will become threatened because even the bible says the heart of men are desperately wicked, you will start seeing the evil in so many people's mind and then start losing your peace of mind.
**Being able to rewind time or being able to pause time?**
I would choose being able to rewind time cause I have a lot of things to correct from my past and I do always wish that if only I can rewind the time. You know when you start getting older, you will start realizing a lot of mistakes you have made in the past and you will so wish you can go back to correct it, the same applies to me, all I wanna do is to correct all my past mistakes.
**Breathe underwater or be able to fly?**
Being able to fly will be the absolute best, I mean! I will be able to fly in and out of this country😂, what a wonderful thing, I won't even need a ticket or passport to go on a vacation, life will become so easy. Even when I'm late for work, all I need to do is just to fly and I will get to my workplace quickly💃😂. Breathing under water is also feasible but that's if being able to fly is not the second option.
**Have one wish granted today or 3 wishes in ten years' time?**
I prefer to have one wish granted today cause who knows what might have happened in the next 10 years (maybe Jesus would have even come 😁). And somehow one wish can contain three wishes at the same time, it just requires proper packaging if you know what I mean😁.
These are my answers, it might be kind of funny and real but don't take anything I say here too serious, we never can tell what we will do unless we see ourselves in the situation. You can as well do yours and tag me, I will be glad to see your own answers😁.

Why winners win and losers lose
Being a winner is everybody's dream but can we then make the sacrifices winners make? There are lots of sacrifices to make in order to become a winner and you all would agree with me that being a winner is a thing of the mind so if the mindset isn't worked on, being a losers will become inevitable.
**Below I will be listing some various reasons why winners win and losers lose**
**Winners build and invest while losers buy stuffs:** whenever winners see an available open space or little cash, all they do is to invest into their future by building friendships, wealths, values, good name etcetera while losers only buy liability to themselves. They will keep on buying luxurious things of life even if it's of no good use to them, things they can't maintain and will only become burden to them on the long run.
**Winners fail but keeps trying until they succeed while losers fail once and quit:** one thing I always admire about the winners of our time is their ability to persevere and also their level of patience. They never quit, they keep on trying until they get there. A very good example of a winner that never quitted was **Abraham Lincoln**, if you are planning to quit or give up, I would like you to read and study about this man. He was defeated for so many offices including the office of the speaker, US senate, vice president... but he never gave up until he became the US President in the year 1860. Losers only give something a trial and once they fail, they give up and quit. (Even the one time trial is with so much conviction).
**Winners earn respect while losers seek respect:** anywhere losers gets to, they always demand people to respect them, they always want to prove that they are older and better than everyone but winners don't even have to say it, through their works, it is must you respect them.
**Winners makes things happen while losers lets things happen:** people who win are always behind every good thing that happens while losers will only sit and watch good things happen.
**Winners face their fears while losers escape from their fears:** Fear only make things worse, it can never make it better more reason why the winners always find a way to conquer their fears but the losers will only run from it.
**Winners help others get ahead too while losers always want to get ahead of others:** when you see someone who is always trying to help people get better or so keen on getting people to the top then you should definitely know that the person is a winner but seeing someone who always want to get ahead of other people, who thinks that no one should ever gets to his/her position, undoubtedly the person is such a loser.
**Winners define their own success while losers follow the success of other people:** heading in other people's direction has always been a characteristic of a loser because everyone has their own way of success, man A can never get successful in the same way man B did. To be a winner, your success story must only come from you and also be solely understandable by you.
**Winners thinks their success is as a result of their hardwork while losers thinks that winners only win through luck:** winners know that the more hardworking they get, the more luckier they become while losers thinks that winners only win because they get lucky and would never think it's because of their hardwork.
**Winners keep learning while losers thinks they are genius:** losers don't always see any reason whatsoever to learn because they feel that they already know it all and that they are more brilliant that everybody but winners will always keep learning because they know they have to keep learning in order to maintain their success.
**Winners keeps good company while losers keeps bad company:** wherever you see winners, you would always see them in companies of fellow winners who are more successful than they are and they can learn few stuffs from but a loser will always be in the company of fellow losers who has nothing to offer then giving each other useless ideas.

Tourist attractions in my state you would love to visit
Good evening friends, today I will be writing about the various hangout locations in my hometown. I'm from Ondo state and Ondo State is a state in South Western Nigeria. Created in February 1976 from the former Western State. Ondo state which is known as the sunshine state has 18 local government which one of it is Akure, the state capital and precisely where I came from.
Nigeria as a country has 3 major tribes which are the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba though there are so many other tribes but these three tribes are the major tribes in the country. Hausa tribe is located in the northern part of the country, Igbo tribe is located in the Eastern part of the country and Yoruba tribe is located in the western part of the country.
Ondo State being a state in the south western part of Nigeria automatically makes it a Yoruba state. Ondo state is blessed with alluring landscapes with some exciting tourist sites. There are quite a number of places to visit in my State but I will be talking about 5 most common and exciting places.
**Idanre hills**
Idanre Hills, which the Yorubas termed as "Oke Idanre", is one of the most beautiful and most visited landscapes in Ondo State and Nigeria. It has 660 steps and five resting points set at 100 meters interval between the hills before reaching to the topmost hill. Idanre hill is the most popular resort center and the most travelled destination in Ondo state.

Agboogun's Legacy
Unreadable signs
Agboogun's footprint
The wonderful mat
Aopara Water
The Orosun Hill
The Arun river
The wonders are truly so much wonder because of its uniqueness, the steps which are 660 in number is really such a wonder even the Agboogun’s Footprint which fits any foot size and the Arun river which flows from the Orosun Hill and has so much healing power. This hill has also brought so much fame to the nation which led to the the nation's nomination of the UNESCO world heritage site shortlist.
**Igbokoda Waterfront**
The Igbokoda waterfront is located in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State which offers series of activities such as boating, swimming, picnic, boat regatta, diving and so on. It is one of the longest territorial waters in Nigeria and has a waterfront which has a fishing terminal and normally attract any visitor that comes around.

**Smokin Hills Golf Resort**
This resort is located in Ilara Mokin and was built in 2012 by Chief Michael Ade-Ojo. The name "smokin hills golf resort was derived from smoke that emits early in the morning from the 140 acres of the jungle surrounding it and the rolling hills. The back drop of smoke is seen in the air in the evening and the greenery at the resort is normally awesome in the morning. The golf course was carved out of 140 acres of surrounding jungle and rolling hills. This place is one of the best resort centers I've been to and I can tell you it is one of the best if you feel like relieving stress. You only need to give it a view and don't forget to take your golf equipment along when going.
**Owo museum of Antiques**
As the name implies, this museum is located in Owo local government and over the years, this museum has been one of the best in the state. The museum gives so many history about Owo and the major reason why it is reserved for visitors who wants to learn more about the Owo history and values. The Owo museum of antiques is a national museum and it has so many woods and ivory carvings, brass and bronze works.
**Cave of Ashes**
The Cave of Ashes is located in Isarun and it's skeleton was firstly discovered by Professor Thurstan Shaw who was an archaeologist at the university of Ibadan. The cave of ashes is normally referred to as the home of the oldest pre-historic man in West Africans. (I guess because it was discovered by an old professor).
These locations are quite amazing and you will sure love to visit some of them, I have also visited some and I wish I have the pictures we took from our visitations. It's been a while we visited the places though and I wish to visit them again soon.

Utilizing your time very well
The ASUU strike which is presently ongoing might have a lot of disadvantages on the general students but trust me, it also have so many advantages in which one of it is teaching us how to well utilize our time.
We have so much time to ourselves now but how well are we utilizing it? **Are you just sleeping and winding away time or you are doing something productive with your time?** You have to give that a huge thought!
Like I said in my previous post Extension of ASUU strike again a friend of mine will be getting married this weekend and as much as I'm happy for her, she said the reason she's planning on getting married is because she felt there's nothing important she wants to do with her time, well she might be right but on the other hand as a lady, can we say there's really nothing important to do with our time asides getting married and ending up in the kitchen? Another friend of mine also got pregnant due to ASUU strike and she's now bitter about it because her boyfriend refuses to accept responsibility for the child. She's so depressed about the issue because she knows she wouldn't be able to return to school even when the strike becomes called off and her mates returns back to school. Now who is going to be the greater loser, Her or her boyfriend? Definitely the guy has moved on with his life.
We can do so much with our time especially this ASUU break, don't just come home to sleep and sleep without achieving any tangible thing. It won't be heard that you just went to your house and go back to school the same way you left (like those church sermons 😂).
If you have a business in mind and you feel like you want to startup the business, gather enough skill and information you need about the business, even if you can't finish learning about it now, start learning first then you can continue learning during the semester and section breaks but I think you should be able to learn so much in this break cause we have a very long break in front of us if you don't know yet😁.
You can also try out voluntary services especially the one related to your line of study. If you are a medical student, look for a medical center and apply for their jobs, I know it would be very difficult getting a job in your line of study as an undergraduate in which you will be paid and that's why you have to include in your letter of application that you don't mind working voluntarily while assisting someone even if it's not more than just two days in a week. Trust me you cannot know the use of this now until you start seeking for a job, it's really gonna help you with your working experience. This worked for done people I know and I'm also trying it out myself.
You can also try out some other activities like going for gyms and workout sessions, attending trainings and seminars that focuses on your growth, getting serious with your service for God amongst others. The extension of ASUU strike again?
Hello my awesome friends, how have you all been? Right now I'm so pissed because I don't even understand what is happening in my country anymore, education system is really affected badly and it's drawing back so many things in my life.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has started a warning strike for all university students since the third week of February and up until now, the strike has not been called off. It first started with a one month warning strike which was supposed to end in the third week of March but instead was extended by 8 weeks which was also supposed to end yesterday but didn't, and now the strike has been extended by 12 weeks again. Ha!
But then can we blame ASUU? They are only fighting for their rights. All they wanted was for the government to pay them the various debts they were owed in which the government has refused to pay them and has lingered for so many years.
When exactly are we gonna graduate? sincerely speaking, I'm so tired of this everytime strike, it is really killing the studentship in me. You can imagine the school we are supposed to attend for 4 years is slowly turning into 6, 7, 8 years for people, what's this life? Even the fact that I took so long at home before gaining admission is giving me more headache, a whole 4 years at home and now just when I thought I already gained admission and in 4 years I will be done, all this is happening again!
First it was pandemic in the year 2020 which kept everybody including all the students at home for almost a year (if not more than) and now it's ASUU strike which is already going to 4 months already we have been staying at home with no hope of resuming any time soon because the government isn't responding at all to ASUU and even to the complaint of the masses. It's so frustrating!
Though this isn't the first time universities will be going on ASUU strike, it has always been in existence but this time, it's really affecting me because pandemic has already taken it part on me and I was not planning for a repetition of that anytime soon but now it looks like there nothing I can do about that now.
According to history, ASUU strike first firstly observed in the year 1999 because of the way the lecturers were been treated and also because of the debts they were owed and since then ASUU strike has continued tremendously. From the year 1999 to the year 2022, ASUU strike has happened for 17 times, that's in the space of 23 years which means the strike did not only happen in 5 years. So we can boldly say that every university student has however encountered the strike in a particular time if their life. Hmmm....
Well before I conclude, I'm kind of happy because my very good friend will be getting married to the love of her life next weekend and I'm quite optimistic that everything will go on smoothly that day, I'm so happy for her. Though ASUU strike caused this because she decided to get married since ASUU strike doesn't look like it will be ending soon. Funny right? Yeah I know 😂.
`I'm so unhappy right now because I'm not getting any younger. Tell me, how can a student be in one class for 2 good years? Isn't that worth contemplating about? It's so annoying how worse the education system of my country has gotten. I wish I could do something but unfortunately, there's really nothing much I can do than to just be optimistic and be hopeful that things would get better soon`.

Your life or your money?
This has been one of the popular phrase we grew up to know in movies. The question "your life or your money" is mainly used in an armed robbery operation, it is usually to scare people so they could drop their money easily without any stress unless they prefer to drop their life instead which instigate that they would be killed if they don't drop their money so the choice is theirs to pick one of the two.
While watching an old time movie yesterday, the phrase"your life or your money" was repeatedly mentioned so it drew my attention to writing about it. While it already looking normal, should a person's life be a replacement for money? Should killings continue all in the name of money? Even the bible already said it that he who does not work must not eat so why then do people want to eat from where they do not work?
**Let's talk about the armed robbers themselves**
Armed robbers didn't just start robbing in a day, majority of them has started since they were kids, they majorly started with petty stealings at their various homes into stealing in open spaces like schools, churches, market place till they become a big time armed robber. While some of these petty thieves were caught beforehand, some made it into a very big terrorism group.
**Is Jungle Justice for thieves appropriate?**
In my country, any thief that was caught stealing in an open space especially in the market (even if it's a cube of seasoning), such person will be either beaten terribly almost to death or burnt to ashes. we call that type of punishment "JUNGLE JUSTICE". It's a situation whereby the law wasn't allowed to take it full course, the people already taken Justice into their hands. So should we now it's better that way? Should jungle justice be encouraged? Definitely NOT! It might look as though the law is fucked up because the country now seem lawless, even our so called leaders are corruption minded but I still feel jungle justice is not the solution. I've literally heard of a case of someone who was mistaken for a criminal because of the type and colour of dress he was putting on (I guess it matched with what the real criminal was putting on) after he was already burnt to death, the real criminal was found. It was so disheartening when I heard the story, what a pity! Now tell me, if it were to be that he was only arrested by the police, wouldn't he have been released after discovering the real criminal?
**What should be done in order to curb armed robbery?**
For me parent have a very significant role to play in the curbing of armed robbery, infact I think poor family background is the major root cause of armed robbery. Some kids steal petty things in their homes but their parent would turn a blind eye to it thinking that they are still little children. It hails from taking little things such as meat from the stew pot, money from the drawer, even other siblings leftover meals. Even when some of these children grow up into teenage years, they go as far as bringing home what is not theirs from school like multiple stationeries, notebooks and textbooks that is not theirs and the likes but their parent will show little or no concern to it. When they eventually turn into real thieves and they start bringing plenty of cash home, while some of the parents will want to find out where the money is coming from, some other parents won't even bother, as long as the child is bringing money home, everything is ok.
I've heard of the story of a guy who started stealing too at a very young age and instead of the mother to find solution to her son's problem, she decided to take him to an herbalist for spiritual fortification so that he would be going on big time armed robbery operations and he would also be going and coming back successfully without being caught. The guy later became a very big terrorist in the society that didn't fear anyone and was always killing people on his operations even after collecting money.
So the parents have a very big role to play in the curbing of armed robbery, we should always be conscious of whatever our children are bringing home and also be correcting them anytime they are picking something that is not theirs. I also believe so much in prayers, if the child seem unrepentant even after all our efforts to make them change, let's always put them in our prayers and trust me, you would be amazed with what God is set to do in their lives.

Update: how my week went & my travel experience
Good evening my friends and family.. it has really been a while here, I've been quite busy with a program so we weren't spared any time to even do something of our own so I'm sorry for not writing since.
So I attended a 3 days program which started from Monday and ended on Wednesday, it is called "festival of fire", I was part of the volunteers for the program and I function in the Registration and Follow up unit. It made the program more of a stressful one for me. I also travelled from my location to another location just to attend this program, though it was just an hour journey and I love it. I came across beautiful things on the way and I also got to meet lots of people. It was amazing.
There were lots of invitees and guest ministers and they were all exceptionally wonderful. Day one started off with arranging and prayer with the host, planning committee and volunteers of the event. We set up the camping area well, made sure all the electronics; the speakers, the lights, the microphones, the drone, the cameras, the recorders, the display TV and every other electronics were put in place. Then we moved to setting up the chairs for the various departments of the program; the general event participants, the registration department, the choir department, the medical team stand, the welfare stand, the protocol unit, the ushering stand and the ministers seats. It was quite stressful but beautiful
The second day was also quite awesome, the invitees started arriving one after the other and they took their sections exceedingly well. Our first invitee minister in songs and it was beautiful while the second invitee minister in the word of God likewise the third invitee while the last invitee ministered in songs as well. I felt like she shouldn't stop singing, it was like an angel singing from heaven.
The third day also came with lots of goodies as we had so many invitees though the rain poured at the middle of the program but it didn't affect anything, it looks as though we even waxed stronger during the program. We had a career talk section followed by a song ministration by the choristers and then we had a relationship talk also follow by taking the team song for the program and then some other stuffs were done and the program came to an end. Trust me, I didn't want it to end😊.
Some points I noted down during the course of the program and I think it should help you
If your life is empty, the fragrance of the holy ghost will expose your foolishness.
The same way a pastor prays in tongue, a barber should speak in tongues too, a caterer should and other people.
You should not shine your light in the church alone, you should shine your light in the world.
Our generation is not waiting for a star or celebrity, they are waiting for a solution provider.
For any man God will use, he will test.
The event of your future success is your past success .
You must past the test of obedience in order to manifest.
No land is greener on the other side, you only water the
side you are.
Life is slippery, tread softly.
Do not allow anybody demean you.
If you know who you are, you will not allow anybody to mess you up.
Any relationship that won't allow you express yourself is a **cult, GET OUT!**
A king is a king whether he is sleeping or not.
No child is sent to any parent but child comes through a parent.
Marriage is not a 50/50 percent thing, it is an 100/100 percent thing, you come together to add value and together, you must manifest as sons of God.

Tips to stay warm and moisturized in this winter period
Having a dry skin during winter period is a very common effect of winter. Some of effects of dry skin includes scaliness, itchiness, redness, irritated skin, stinging or burning, cracks in your skin etcetera. To avoid these effects, you can also try out some of the steps I followed.

**Let’s take a look at some tips that may help boost the health of your skin and help you stay warm and looking moisturized always during winter**
**Always make sure you moisturize after washing**
Using a moisturizer after washing your hand or other part of your body is very important, as you wash, you get rid of essential oils in the body so that is why it is important to use moisturizer after washing to replace the lost oil and keep your skin looking hydrated. You can try out the nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme.
**Adjust your skin care routine**
If your face seems to be always sensitive or irritated due to the dry winter air, you may want to consider simplifying your skin care routine for the time being. If your skin is irritated, it might be more sensitive to ingredients like fragrance and alcohol. This means that products that would normally feel great on your face could turn into irritants. Try keeping your skin care routine simple.
**Bath at a normal temperature**
Taking a hot bath after having a stressful winter day may feel soothing but to keep your skin nourished, you may need to use a lukewarm water instead. Hot water can be detrimental to your skin and strip away your skin's natural oils faster than a lukewarm water. Also make sure to gently pat your skin with a soft towel after bath and not a heavy rubbing so that your skin to not overly dry out.

**Protect yourself from the wind.**
Cover your face and use a petroleum-based lip balm. Skin protectants that include petroleum and creams with ceramides are effective as well.
**Take precautions while using exfoliants and scrubs**
Exfoliants are good for the body as it helps in getting rid of dry dead skin from the body but it might be damaging to the skin when over used. Also using the wrong type of exfoliants and scrubs can cause the skin to dry out. So make sure to watch the kind of exfoliant you are using during winter period. If your skin is cracked, raw, or irritated, it may be best to avoid exfoliation until your skin has healed.
**Protect your skin from sun**
Though it might be tempting to cut out sunscreens from our routine during winter because we feel it's no more needed since it's no more winter period but remember that even during during winter, the winter sun can also be dangerous to the skin. Overexposure to sunlight can lead to premature aging of the skin and skin cancer. The recommended type of sunscreen should be at least SPF 30.

**Always keep your body hydrated**
The key step to keeping your skin healthy and glowing is to make sure you’re staying well hydrated throughout the day. (Infact this should have been my number 1). Hydrating from inside is sure the best way to look hydrated on the outside. Not taking in enough fluid can affect the appearance of your skin and also make it more susceptible to drying out. In addition to staying well hydrated, you may also want to focus on eating foods that are high in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. Both of these nutrients can protect your cells from environmental damage and help your body make healthy cells.
**Applying occlusive too can help**
Occlusive ingredients provide a physical barrier to lock moisture into your skin. You may want to consider incorporating occlusive ingredients into your skin care routine also. Examples of occlusive ingredients include shea butter, cocoa butter, rosehip oil, petroleum jelly-based products like Vaseline etcetera. The best way to work these products into your routine is to apply them once or twice per day after moisturizing.

**Take vitamin D supplements if need be**
Your natural vitamin D production increases as a result of daily sun exposure during the summer but decreases during the winter period as a result of lesser sun exposure. Taking vitamin D supplements can ensure that you get the recommended amounts of vitamins all year round.
**Non-irritating fabrics can be the best at this period**
One of the rules that have tarried for so long when dealing with any skin problem is to avoid wearing harsh materials and dry skin is no exception. If your skin is extra dry, try wearing loose, comfortable, natural fabrics to reduce the risk of extra physical irritation. Also, avoid washing your clothes with regular detergents. Make sure to use detergents formulated for sensitive skin which will likely be free of harsh chemicals and fragrances.
**Try wearing gloves both indoors and outdoors**
To protect your hands, wear warm gloves when stepping out into the cold and use a pair of silicone gloves when washing dishes indoors. Gloves are the ultimate physical barrier against environmental agents that can dry out the skin on your hands. Also by limiting the dry air and hot water that touches your skin can help keep your hands smooth and well hydrated.

These are the little points of mine that I know will work well during the winter period because everything listed here is what I've tried out on my own and it worked well for me and that's the reason why I decided to put it out just incase you might need this information.

Are you the kind of spouse you want?
This issue has become so alarming and need to be addressed, why would you want a spouse that is directly opposite who you are? No, tell me why?
I was in a circle of some friends last week in which we were cheering a sister up who was getting married so it led to the conversation about the type of spouse we would want to get married to. Then a friend of mine said she wanted a particular kind of guy to be her spouse and knowing her fully well, we knew she's just a direct opposite of the kind of spouse she said she wanted to get married to. We resulted into making her understand that she has to be the best version of herself if she wants to get married to the best guy.
You will hear some girls asking themselves why they can't seem to meet a rich and handsome guy knowing that they themselves are just in their comfort zone not doing anything worth noticing or even try to get a job doing so they can at least earn little cash. ***"Iron sharpens iron"*** **so do** ***"Metals attract metals"*****, be sure that you will only attract your type of person.** This is not a vain talk, it is reality and it is high time we learn to face reality.
**What I want in my spouse and am I the same version of person?**
I want a good looking guy that has a good and dependable source of income. He should be more than 6.5 inches tall because I'm a tall lady, any complexion is fine by me and he should not be fat but not too slim either. He should be both an extrovert and introvert ie. he has to be able to create time to be indoor with his family at the appropriate time and outdoor if need be. He should be nice to everybody and fun to be with, not overly friendly to people more than his family and should not be greedy not stingy. Most importantly, he should believe in me and my dreams and he should love me genuinely.
This is the list of what I want in my my future partner, it might look too much but it is very much possible to get a man like this even more as long as you are the same version of person. Looking at everything I wrote up, I can tell you that this is also what describes me. You can easily recognize me when looking at the list up.
That's exactly what I'm saying about being the kind of spouse you want. You don't even have to be everything you want in your partner but at least, try! Do something different from what you have been doing before, build yourself up to a level where you would even have plenty of choice to pick from. Don't just stay in your comfort zone repeating the same thing you have been doing over and over again and be expecting all your dreams to come true. You need a take a step and you will see everything falling in place.
If iron tries to sharpen wood, the wood will either break or burn to ashes. That's what happens when you get married to a person who is completely different from who you are. It's either the person breaks you / you break the person or the both of you breaks each other, either way someone is going to be broken.
I use to have a particular male friend who got married to a completely different version of himself, he lost his life because of that. His wife was one lady who was so obsessed about rich guys, more reason she got acquainted with my friend because he's a rich guy, he was doing so well in his office before he got married to this lady. She didn't have any job as at the time they both met but the guy promised to help her secure a job somewhere which he did but she complained about everything when she started the job, she didn't spend more than two weeks there before quitted the job. It was very obvious that she was not ready to do anything from the very start but the guy paid no attention to it. They eventually got married but just few months after their wedding, the wife got to know the husband's boss and she discovered that the boss was more richer than her husband so she decided to kill her husband so she could marry the boss in which she succeeded and she married the boss. The death of her husband was later traced to her and she was apprehended by the police and was later sentenced to life imprisonment.
I can boldly tell you that majority of the **failed marriages** that we are seeing today is as a result of **two different persons** getting married to each other.

Every moment is valuable, make it count
Hello my friends, how's your day going? I want to firstly appreciate everyone for welcoming me awesomely into this platform, the love you guys showed me was really amazing and I'm so grateful 🙏.
Every moment of your life is valuable so make sure you use it wisely, you see time is our greatest enemy, we don't have time so to say. Don't say I will do it tomorrow when you know that you have the capability to do it today, what if there's no tomorrow? What if there's no chance or opportunity for you to do it tomorrow? Make proper use of your today.
*When I was still a teenager and I was seeking admission into the university, I couldn't gain admission quickly because of the type of academic standard I was pursuing so I stayed at home for quite a number of years but my point here is that those times I stayed at home before I finally gained admission was the greatest moments of my life. I called it greatest moment because those were the times I achieved a whole lot of things, I made sure I put those times into a great use. I learnt series of handwork which is really helping me today, I attended multiple trainings; business training, webinars, self development classes, I even took online classes and other important classes I need to take for my growth. I always make use of whatsoever slight opportunity I see on my way, I never let anyone pass me by. There are times I would have to sacrifice some things like my time, money, energy etcetera but I never cared even when I don't still know how some stuffs I'm learning then will apply to my journey in life but trust me when I tell you that* ***almost everything I learnt then has been useful for me and is still being useful now in one way or the other.***
If you notice above that I mentioned "GROWTH", it's because a person that is not growing is regarded as being "DEAD". One of the major attribute of life is growth and you can only grow through self development and improvement by learning everyday. You have to keep learning, do not waste any moment not doing anything, make every moment count. You never know where you will need that very opportunity that is opened to you right now and you are throwing away.
One of the skills I acquired while still seeking admission was fashion designing and as you can see from the picture below, these are some of the dresses I made for my clients and it was so amazing.
I also acquired the graphics designing skills and it's what I use to make some designs for my blogs and also for my businesses. As at the time I learnt graphics design, I had no use of it, I didn't even know how it's going to help me through my life journey but I still took the class and right now, I'm so glad I took it.
I remember during the pandemic lockdown period, I took some advance classes in order to enhance some of the skills I have learnt before. I didn't just say that "I have this skills already so I don't need to learn it again" No, I still took the class. That is the place of self development, as I said earlier you have to keep improving, don't stay at just one position. Trust me, opportunities will always come but it's left to us to use it wisely or leave it. One thing I've also realized is that whenever I have something in mind to do or achieve, opportunities relating to that thing will suddenly come up at that particular time (I don't know if this also happens to some of you here).
**Leave your comfort zone today and do that thing in which you have always wanted to do!**

Newbie alert.. My first post on readcash
