Weight Loss and DieTips : PART 1
6.AVOID THE DRESSINGS
Try to stay away from things like mayonnaise, butter, cheese sprinkles and bacon on your potato etc. It's important to remember that it often isn't the pasta or the potato that makes you gain weight (unless you're just eating way too much of it). Rather, it's usually everything that you pile on top that fills your clothes out! That is to say that a baked potato by itself is healthy until you pile on all the bacon bits, cheese, butter, sour cream, etc. Also, when you eat out and order a salad, ask for the dressing to be put on the side. That way you have more control over your calorie intake.
7.TAKE THE STAIRS
Here are some suggestions that are real easy to do. When you go to the mall or to work and park in the parking lot, park in the far corner of the lot and walk to where you need to be (but don't be late for work). Instead of taking the elevator take the stairs. Whenever faced with a choice always take the route where you can burn a few extra calories. It really does work. If you live five blocks from the grocery store don't get in your car to and drive there, break out the walking shoes and get busy!
8.DON'T TREAT IT LIKE YOUR LAST MEAL
Don't go back for second and third helpings. It is not necessary to keep eating until you can't eat another bite. Eat slower and cut down the size of the portions of your helpings. Don't necessarily eat until all the food on your plate is gone (your parents and mine were wrong!). You should always go away from the table knowing that you could have eaten more. Leave the table just a little bit hungry. You should never say: "I can't eat another bite".
9.BE REALISTIC IN YOUR TIME FRAME
If it has taken you 20 years to get "out of shape" don't expect to look like a super model in only a few days or weeks. It is going to take time. The longer it has been for you since you have been in good condition the longer it will take to get back to form. BE PATIENT and don't quit! You'll find that you'll have moments where you wonder whether all the effort is worth it so when that happens remind yourself that it is painful (literally) to be beautiful. By that we mean it is painful working out (to a degree) and it is difficult to turn down our favorite foods, sweets, or snacks. In the long run, however, you'll be glad you did.
10.DON'T DRINK AND EAT
Avoid drinking a great deal of liquid with your meals as it can disturb your digestion. Too much liquid with your food dilutes the digestive juices in your body making digestion less effective. Also, when you stay away from liquids during you meal you fill up much faster and cause the meal to be more satisfying. When you're NOT eating a meal drink water, water, and more water.
