How Far the Philippines in Technology?

“HOW FAR IS THE PHILIPPINES IN TECH EDUCATION?”

The Philippines is one of the progressive countries, not only in South East Asia but also in the world. Our country has the capability to sustain the economy by trading and reaching entrepreneurs outside of the country. But in terms of advanced technology. It can’t push the limitation to reach and stand on the top. Even with the Philippines known for highly skilled workers in the industry's field, it is not enough to take an advance in other countries with advanced technology and with complete equipment. In education, there is a lack of competencies in the actual output. Because instead of having a demonstration in the field. The school's focus on virtue and discipline in work, which it applies to the actual world. This kind of system in school can’t sustain the knowledge of the student, and it leads to a lack of experience. It is one of the principal reasons the other students take another year to expand their knowledge with the help of a school that offers complete equipment or in TESDA. Another problem in technology in the Philippines is lack of support of the government. They can’t give a huge budget for DOST to sustain the equipment for the country’s needs. The main reason for having a poor technology is, the government doesn’t have a lot of programs for the Pilipino inventor. They don’t have a budget for them to improve and sustain the fundaments of their project. The other countries take this advantage to make the Philippines remain under the line.

I agree with this. And yet hey have the face to demand researches from its undervalued researches. They don't even help them out. The researchers don't even get a research budget, which should also be part of the national budget, honestly. Pluss they never make use of the proposed researches because the people in positions won't understand. As of now, our equipments are outdated or basically just hand me downs from other countries

There are a lot of Pilipino inventors in the PH but the exact problem is they can't sustain it for further research and upgrades. to be honest we can make high quality equipment that can beat other country equipment. but it is frankly upset when we see our country take advantage by other countries.

And a lot of Filipino inventors here lose interest when they find their research being stolen. It happens a lot to my fellow researches who asked for financial support from the local DOST. Besides feeling like they were begging their panel to listen to them while they present, they also received so much harsh criticism that they thought applying there was so degrading. That's why research here doesn't flourish much. Because even there, it's rather biased to UP students
