Love and war

The world is fair in love and war they say. And it was proven true when, at the dawn of time, each boy and girl was given a gift. Some were given special powers, others were given weapons and others got the power to change themselves into another thing.

Among these gifts, there were people who got stuck with none of these three things. They didn't have any tools to protect themselves or hunt so they became extinct. The world was left with only a few groups of boys and girls who had to live together in harmony or risk being destroyed by each other.

Finding love proved harder than expected, but they looked above them, hoping for someone to save them from this misery and the Gods smiled upon them. They created two new groups of people the floaters and the stalkers thus reducing their dependency on each other for survival and giving them purpose that goes beyond their own existence.

This article was inspired by the task performed by the Big Brother naija season 7 housemates.

They were divided into four groups. One of the groups acted a short dram titled "love and war". Where 3 different couples came to a counselor. Each couple fights each other do much, but still they couldn't do without each other.

It is easy to fall in love it is very difficult to stay in love after the initial passion has cooled down. If a couple makes it to this point then they have won the war against the mutual enemies of their relationship. But if they do not learn to compromise and understand each other, they will end up losing the war.

In love and in war, the world is fair they say. When we fall in love, or deal with a loved one, we are capable of the most insane sacrifices: from giving the rest of your life to someone you barely know, to on the contrary, dying for a person you love.

In war, it's the same thing. People are ready to give their life to save the one they love. They also do crazy things for them, putting their life in danger for a persons that doesn't mean anything to them.

How can it be possible that each of these situations can make us do crazy things, often risking our life? The answer is simple: there is something that keeps us alive and free, something that dominates over fear, over death.. This something resides in our brain. It is a small part of it called ventral tegmental area and it is responsible for making us do crazy things for someone we love or hate.

Many times in love we are not able to overcome our fears and in some cases they are very real, we can even lose someone we really love because of them.

But there is a way to solve that, through a fair war, the real war, the one that brings strength and courage, the one that makes you be sure of what you want.

Not to fight for your ego or your pride but just to have an example of your love.

In life we face many battles every day and they are not always related to love.The important thing is not how many victories you get but how many times you get up again.
