Learn to appreciate
Learn to appreciate people while they are still alive.
How many of us can say that we have actually developed the habit of showing gratitude to our family, friends, and colleagues?
The fact is that we tend to filter our interactions with people by how useful we find them, how useful/pleasant/helpful they are. We appreciate a textbook when it helps us pass an exam; a colleague when he or she helps us get the job done; a friend when she makes us laugh.
It's only when somebody goes out of the way to be excessively nice or helpful that we feel obligated to show appreciation. Most of our relationships are transactional, and it's easy to forget (or at least postpone) the need to show gratitude until they are gone.
Appreciate the little things in life and make people around you feel appreciated. People are increasingly more inclined towards 'me first' attitude and show no respect for elders. That creates a very unpleasant environment where people live their lives with little to no respect for anyone.
Appreciate the efforts, appreciate the time and appreciate the value. Work is a sacred journey of learning and growing. So whenever there is a value add or a learning opportunity, appreciate. Appreciate while they are still alive; appreciate while they are still around to smile at you. Appreciate before they become all work and no smile.
Life is such a great gift by nature. We should appreciate it by doing something for the others. Do something for others that gives you appreciation and happiness.
Life is like a train journey, as you travel in this journey, some people will leave from the train, some will come in the journey. There will be gains and losses in it but, there is no need to worry about it. This is reality. The only thing we have to do is to make a good relationship with all of them and appreciate them, in any way we can, before they leave the train.
Just appreciate them while they are still alive, don't even think about what will happen if they leave you. More appreciations, more friends, more happiness for us.
