Hello dear readcash users. I want to thank you once again for your time and your contributions you made in my other articles. This time let's dive into gender balance. Even though my article is going to be short on that note, it will thereby be beneficial. I'm here to highlight some key aspects of gender balance which we might have misconceptions about; these are:

____*Gender equality* and *gender equity*_____

Now let's briefly define what each are:,

*Gender equality means equal opportunity and equal enjoyment by men and women, boys and girls .

Let me give an example to break this brief definition. Let's say a male and a female are supposed to climb a building. Here, they are given the same ladder to climb the same building. Here, they are given equal opportunities and no one was being cheated. I hope all is clear with this explanation (you can add another example to the comment section to share ideas).

Now let's define gender equity.

*Gender equity means fairness and justice in the distribution of benefits and responsibilities between male and female. Here, the opportunities given to each gender depends on their potentials and what each can do.

Let me give an example to emusify my brief definition.

Let's say, a male and female are asked to climb a building, here, the male is given a small ladder to climb and the female is given a large ladder to climb bearing in mind that these are their potentials.

This can be attributed to education.

In this image, all the animals were asked to climb that same tree(gender equality). And each animal has it's potential. Hence, looking at the picture above who do you think you can climb that tree.

The monkey can and the snake can climb. The rest can't. In the education system in developing Countries like Ghana, we only look at the area where academics is and rarely depend on the other sectors including technical and vocational work, making it difficult to move forward.

We must therefore create this atmosphere of gender balance in order for each individual to have a fair and equal share of the opportunities.

The following below will enhance good gender relationship.

  1. Equal opportunities.

  2. Avoid having the notation that girls are for nothing.

  3. Excellent house hold-wife relationship.

  4. Women should not be dictated too but should be consulted.

  5. Women should not be tagged as a weaker sex.

  6. Elimination of male superiority.

  7. Promoting girl-child education.

All these are ways of bringing about good gender relationship.

Thank you once again for your time. I hope you liked this article. Please suscribe for more of these articles.
