Changes in watercolor style I've not really been in the mood to do nor write about anything these days. I've just been reading and reading because what escape do I have right now. For today, I just wanted to show my evolution on how I handled watercolor because my sister seem to have found a drastic change in the style. Also in how I used colored inks
So right now, this is how I do watercolors. It's mostly blended and diluted colors as you can see in the progression of the piece here WIP in completion - **https://read.cash/@Hanzell/wip-in-completion-8928c138** WIP on watercolor - **https://read.cash/@Hanzell/wip-on-watercolor-7165764b** But back then...
It wasn't much but I still seemed to do blending even before, just not as good as it is now
And even here, when I started diluting the watercolor, it still came off a bit solid
Ignore the cat boy, I think even the style here was pretty solid... but it's cool how I've learned to rely on dilution for certain kinds of images but the solid coloring isn't all that bad too

They are all cute... You played with the brush well. How much more if you are using paint..
Oh, it depends on the paint, really. I do more realism id it's acrylic and oil. Poster paint and watercolor unfortunately have chalky textures after so they can't really give off that shine you need for realism
You're really talented in art. Question, do you also design your room? Or like paint its wall? 😍🤩
I used to. But right now my room is full of formula posters i use for board review. So it seems a waste to paint it now
I see. I thought you already passed the board exam. You're supposed to take it this year, correct?
Maybe you are a great talented artist , this are elite painting.
Not at all elite. Sadly a few of them were already sold and these are the few I had left
Oh you are down playing your self
Amazing paintings! Hope I could learn how to paint too. You are a great artist, indeed.
I appreciate that but it's never too late to learn how to paint
Yes, I know that. I think I'll try to learn the basics.
Very nice, and impressive paintings. I like them very much.
Thank you ^-^ though I don't really paint much any more, it's a bit too time consuming
Amazing works! I can't do something like that.
You could practice it though. It's never too late to try art out
Wow, amazing. When I see your articles, I realize you are a person of many talents and surprisingly you manage to get time for all your talents
Not at all. I have a few skills I seem to have forgotten to do but as for art, it's become muscle memory so any forms of blending seems to come naturally now
You should not let go of those skills and practice them every now and then to keep your self in touch
I lack the materials for handicrafts though. Maybe when i can go out again
Yeah as long as you don’t go out of touch, it should be just fine
And now it feels like you're reminding me to stop digital for a bit to do some traditional arts 😂
Hahah. Not necessarily, I am just suggesting that you should not let go of your talents and skills in favour of technology 😀
I'll stop when i get the hang of it 😂😂😂 that's always what ends up happening anyways
Lol you are kind of me in this regard, I also do same in some cases but then regretted later
I like the first and 3rd artwork... The first pictures combination of color (seems pastel-if that's what the type of color is called) is really refreshing.to the eyes. It's like seeing the sun for the first time after days of stormy weather. The 3rd photo... I just like sakura (if i'm not mistaken about the tree)... And i think flowers and branches are really hard to paint. caus if you're not good, it will look messy with no sense and style aha. Drawing that picture, i can really say that you are good. I also like the 4th one though. It looks like a fantasy scene. with that wizzard (i feel like he's a wizzard) and a "male chobitz".. Is that what it's called. the female robot anime that looks so cute with her ears where her cord (plug) is also located... 😂🤣😅
That sakura was when i was first trying out dilution back in highschool and it does seem like pastel. Probably because cheap watercolor sets always have that light powdery finish to them adter drying As for the 4th one.. that was actually the ice king and a modified marceline from adventure time. Since the 2 of them have a history together so I thought i would draw. I'm not sure how ot looked like a chobit to you, probably the ears?
yeah the ears ahahhaa.... adventure time, i think I heard of it. it has a yellow dog character, am i right?? wait is it even a dog? I'm not really sure ahahaha yeah they have powdery finish, which I like. Haha. never thought one can create a decent artwork using them though. i thought it was just for childs play. haha now i know. hahaha
Yes, that show! I religiously watched that while growing up because it was nice and some of the episodes were really cute You can do justice to any kind of art material though, no matter how cheap, as long as you know how the finish texture will look like
I never watched an episode or clip or that film yet. haha i don't even know if it's a movie or a series haha. But I hear about it many times and see photos and posts about it. Maybe I should consider taking a peek on one episode. Lucky for you, you have such an artistic soul haha. Sana all, ika nga ahaha
It's a seeies, actually and maybe you should check out a few episodes of it too. The last few seasons of it kinda didn't make sense to me anymore but the first few were pretty chill Well it's about time to post the ink part though
what's it about ba? I mean the storyline?
Just plain adventures. It never had a concrete storyline talaga
ahhh... that's nice. like dora adventures ganun haha.. Dora talaga??? hahhaa... or Barney turned into cartoons Haha... napaghahalata ang edad..??? hahhaa
Hmm... not that level.. mga gravity falls kind of adventure.ganun
ooohhh insteresting... Is it child friendly? i read some feedbacks saying you should not let your child watch it... there are cartoons for adult, like futurama.. haha (nahahalata talaga ang edad ahahah)
Nooe, not at all child friendly 😂😂😂 it's for the older audiences, really. Kind of like a steven universe kind of cartoon story line if you know that because futurama.... is too adult for this world 😂😂😂
too old you say? uhmmm I didn't watch that. excuseeee meeee ahahaha just kidding.. hahhaa then I must watch it on my phone instead hahaha
Heyy everything looked really nice for me. I miss seeing these things. You really never failed to amaze me with your colors and artworks. Tho I think you are using a watercolor that has a light color pay-off so the shading can't be darker. Nonetheless, everything still turned out really really beautiful. 💕💕
Well it's the cheap ones that com in blocks and can be bought for like... 0.5 usd a set? And those are really chalky so i definitely can't shade darker than I would have liked to. Even the blacks in those sets come off as gray so it's not ideal for me. That's why I use inks if i like darker colors. And maybe later I'll show how my ink style changed too, specially with colorrd inks because now I've learned how to blend them properly
Yeyy I'm excited to see that tho no pressure of course😊 Despite the materials, you still did well since you're a good artist. 💕
I just learned to make do with what i usually had since most of the art material i had while growing up where the cheap ones. The only time i had expensive ones where when it was my birthday 😂 but have you seen my cute piggy yettt! I've been waiting to hear your thoughts on my attempts to learn digital
Heyy sorry for the late reply. I haven't seen it. Will check it now. 😍😍
It's finneee UwU https://read.cash/@Hanzell/going-digital-pt-1-a4082716 There's the link to make it easier?
Was the last colouring about Rapunzel cause it looks like it
Yes, because the rapunzel movie just came out when i made that painting
Yeah, photos are really nice. Just keep painting. I can't wait to see more
Well I'm finishing up the ink part that was supposed to go with this one
That is great. I love to see talented people.
Beautiful job
Thank you ^-^ though i can only do landscapes with watercolor
