The price of bitcoin is again at a record level, and is one step away from $ 20,000.
Bitcoin reached its highest level of almost $ 20,000, three years after the cryptocurrency last rose to that level.
One bitcoin climbed to $ 19,850.11 (£ 14,880) at one point on Monday, while at the time of writing it is worth $ 19,289.
Demand for bitcoin rose in November, and its proponents cite increased interest from institutional investors in digital assets, invented by an anonymous developer in late 2008.
The last time bitcoin approached $ 20,000, it crashed spectacularly in December 2017, losing a quarter of its value in one day. However, that still represented a dramatic increase in value compared to prices in 2016, or 2008 when it was worth only a few cents.
During 2020, the value of cryptocurrency increased by about 170%. It rose only 6% on Monday, but its price rose by $ 2,000 as of Friday, showing its extreme instability.
The value of bitcoin has pushed other currencies as well.
I hope we will be satisfied.
