How much do you know about secret societies that exist around the world? There are (or were) many secret societies in the world that over time have become totally mysterious, ie mysterious to this day. And about which very little is known ...
There are only some of the assumptions that individual societies indirectly rule from the shadows, govern states, create a new world order, etc ...
In the following text, we bring you the ones that, according to some claims, are the most mysterious secret societies:
1. Templars
Every secret society has a specific purpose, but the mission of the Knights Templar was of a military nature. After the Crusaders captured Jerusalem in 1096, European pilgrims began to visit the city. Dangers lurked on the way, so in the next 20 years, a secret society of the Knights Templar was created to protect those who set out for the Holy Land.
The Templars played such an important role that even the Vatican released the group from the obligation to respect all laws, except the papal ones. With the new privileges, the number of members in the society began to grow. They were very well trained for combat and became known for their victories in battles with enemy armies.
However, the number of non-military members is also increasing. They began to gain enormous financial wealth and influence among the richest people in Europe. According to a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, even the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail were once in their hands.
Their power lasted until the moment when the Muslims reconquered Jerusalem in 1187. The Knights Templar slowly disappeared and in 1307, King Philip IV of France put pressure on Pope Clement to abolish society and take over their wealth. The remaining members were arrested, tortured and burned alive.
2. Freemasons (Masons)
Masons are still one of the most influential fraternal societies in the world, with about five million members. The organization was founded in 1717, but the documents related to their existence date back to the 14th century. The society was formed as a fraternity whose members share the same philosophical ideas, including the belief in a supreme being. Despite seemingly harmless activities, Freemasons were severely criticized.
Conspiracy theories have long spoken of their occult rites, and even formed entire political groups as a sign of resistance to Freemasons. Churches of all faiths have also criticized the organization. With their numerous memberships and various lodges spread all over the world, modern Freemasons no longer share the same universal rites as was the case in the past. However, one of the rites that has remained constant is the initiation of new members. The new devotee is proposed by someone who is already a Mason, and each new member must go through three different degrees before he reaches the level of a master. Members also have special rules for greeting each other, including handshakes, gestures, and codes, and access to those who are not Masons is prohibited at their meetings. Famous Masons were Winston Churchill, Mark Twain, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin. The symbols of the Masons are the compass and the ruler.
3. Illuminati
Stories about the Illuminati can often be found in literature, movies and television. The organization was founded in Germany at the end of the 18th century. At the time, members of the group presented themselves as an order of enlightened free thinkers. The press soon turned against them, and many began to consider them a group of dissidents whose intention was to overthrow the government, and they were even accused of provoking the French Revolution. The group was soon disbanded, but their influence remained very strong, and it was long rumored that they were still operating from the shadows. Thanks to the constant presence in popular culture, many are afraid of the Illuminati even today. Modern conspiracy theorists believe that society has managed to survive and today acts as a dangerous shadow government by governing world industry and politics, which wants to establish a new world order. The Bush, Winston Churchill and Barack Obama are listed as members of the Illuminati.
The official symbol of the Illuminati is the pyramid, taken from the Freemasons, at the top of which is an eye surrounded by light rays.
4. Yale Students' Society "Skull and Bones"
The Yale Students' Society "Skull and Bones" was the most famous student organization. They would accept new members every spring. Among them were American presidents (George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush), senators, judges of the Supreme Court, which led many to believe that the group acts as a kind of underground organization and achieves the goals of the political elite.
There is no doubt that society is very rich. Membership in this society is no longer a secret, but their rituals are. They meet twice a week, but what happens behind closed doors at their meetings has never been revealed. There is a well-known case when the chief of the Apache tribe sued them, claiming that the skeleton of Jeronimo was in their possession. In addition, they are known to allegedly force new members to confess their intimate life to the rest of the group, and to give each new member nicknames Thus, the story spread that George W. Bush was given the nickname Magog, which is given to members with the most sexual experience.
5. Tule Society
A large number of secret organizations are suspected of having evil intentions, but the Tula Society is one of the few that has proven that. They began gathering in Germany after the end of World War I, practiced occultism, but soon transformed into an organization that promoted the ideology of the Aryan race, and that took racist attitudes toward Jews and other minorities. In 1919, they founded a political organization called the German Workers' Party, of which the young Adolf Hitler became a member. He will take over the party, which will later turn into a Nazi party. But even before that, members of the Tula Society will be involved in some very bizarre activities. The strangest thing was their fascination with the Aryan race.
6. Bilderberg Group
The Bilderbach group is not a secret society by definition, but it operates under a veil of mystery, which has made the group the subject of many conspiracy theories. The group was founded in 1954, and since then its members gather every year at an exclusive conference that brings together world leaders, bankers, economists and media moguls. Only those invited to the conference can attend. The group was founded by people concerned about the spread of anti-American sentiment after World War II, but, over the years, their discussions have turned into broader discussions about achieving mutual understanding between different cultures.
The Bilderberg group was challenged for one key reason: the presence of the media was not allowed at their conferences, nor were they issued announcements from their conferences. This kind of secrecy, as well as that of extensive security measures at conference venues, often involving armed guards, police and even fighter jets patrolling the skies, has drawn sharp criticism. The 2009 conference in Greece was attended by Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, and World Bank President Robert Zoellick.
