Just a day before Christmas and we are still on a regular work schedule that is always busy and rushing to meet the deadlines. It is quite unfortunate for my team to always experience it everyday, and every year. When all of the people in every departments are on their Christmas vacation, we are facing loads of work to finish because it is needed. We can't excuse ourselves and rest because Supply Chain department is always at service especially this Yuletide season. I hate to think that we always sacrifice for the company but that is the real life we have to face there. No one can do the job but our department so we don't have a choice.

Yesterday, the same scenario happened and that is the order from sales came up and all are needed to deliver this week, before Christmas. They give the Purchase order to be a sales, the same day, and they request to deliver the same day eventhough they are aware that it has a 2 day process. They will just say it is badly needed. When the problem arises, Sales people are hard to contact, mainly because they are all in vacation mode and all the responsibilities are left in our hand. If everything fails it is only our mistake. That is the downside of the kind of job I have.

To lighten up a bit, last Tuesday, we were surprised by the treat of our Manager. Her birthday is December 22 but since she is not at work, she treats us LAST December 21. She is so happy that everyone of us, ladies at the office, are there and we had a small celebration at Shakeys.

These are one of the foods I able to capture because they are near my place at the table. We usually go to Shakeys for a little get together because it is the affordable restaurant that are walking distance in the office. The staff there already knows us because we always choose to dine in there.

We just laughed for solid 2 hours because that is only the time we will able to laugh it all out because as soon as we will get back to the office, stress and pressure are waiting for us.

What Makes A Strong Team?

Why do I say this? This is because our team has its story. Our batch consist of half veteran, half 2017 Newbie batch and the baby 2019 batch. The 2017 batch, which includes me, had already learned mistakes from the past and have proven to learn a lot during our tenure. Whenever we have problems or difficulties, we make sure everyone of us knows it. We ask for opinions and advises from the veterans before able to come up with a decision. The 2017 batch also are the people who got promoted recently due to its hardwork and compassion to the company.

Our department has people who wants to grow and excel in the midst of helping the company to grow as well. We are bunch of people who do not go home until the work is done. There is something in our heart that we always say we needs to fulfill and that is our main duty, to do the job well and its finest.

In the picture is the owner of the company. He is the foreigner in the middle. He is kind too. He always checks on us. His priority is the employee. That is where my compassion with the company came from. I have a boss that think about my welfare. We have a good benefits by the way.

We are strong in a way that we are all team player. We face the challenges as a team. We work individually but we ask help or help of the others and they are willing to help and vice versa. We tell the truth. It is mandatory to tell the truth especially if there are problems. We are good friends but we make sure we promote professional work and balance. We have fun too. We promote some activities that will help everyone to breathe. The only lacking is a some reward over a hard work but we are getting there. We are always concern about everyone so at the end of the day we talk about our difficulties. I guess valuing mistakes and the learnings you come up with will make you grow as a person and as a team player.

I had proven myself that I am helpful and when someone needs me, I give them a schedule. My goal is to be always part of the problem solver so I make sure I have that mission sticking with me all the time.

In a team, everyone is needed. There are no greatest, but if you want to be the greatest you allow someone to be great too and the rest will follow. A strong team, is my team. We had weaken a lot of times but we do not stop to aim for the top. We might not be the best department but we always aim to help the company and clients. We are not perfect but everyone of us are perfect ingredients of each of us. Whatever our oath lead us, we will always be doing our best.
