Immigrants

Lately, I have noticed some changes in myself.

Apart from the gray hair growing ("hahahaha I'm not that old, just a strand to beautify the writing"), myopic eyes are increasingly short-sighted and lazy to clean the house let alone cook, there are other changes that I think are due to age factors as well.

Nowadays there is less interest in reading novels, but I prefer reading books that are more serious in tone. And so on is very serious like that. Because the book you are reading is supposedly serious, it is getting harder and slower to finish reading it. Reasonable and acceptable reason right ....

I bought this book in the form of an e-book. It is said that I want to practice the current lifestyle, I want the house not to be overwhelmed by objects, so I try to read through e-books.

Overall, this book is the best. You can read the best reviews here as well. The story of humanity that I think applies to anywhere involving immigrants or immigrants.

The book makes its main object, students from the immigrant community at South High School in Denver. Its author, a well-known journalist, Helen Thorpe, has traced the lives of these 22 immigrant students for a year in and out of their classrooms, at home.

There were moments when reading it, I questioned my way of thinking and my eyes on the immigrants who migrated for the sake of trying to escape the turmoil of living in their own country of origin.

There is one thing that caught my attention when reading this book. This has to do with the education system there.

One of them is the flexibility of the system to meet the needs of these immigrant students. These students need to attend English classes in full for the first few months so that they can adapt to the atmosphere at school. Once the class teacher is satisfied with the student's ability, they will be absorbed into the advanced class.

Another interesting thing is that the flow of information between different ministries is happening quickly and effectively. In the case of The Newcomers, one of these immigrant students had a serious accident. After some time in the hospital, the doctor who treated him thought, healing would happen faster, if this student returned to school and socialized with his friends.

The best thing is, the first day the student arrives at school, the staff at the school have already been informed by the hospital about the condition of the student and his counseling teacher is ready with the student health record that has been received from the hospital. Not even received from parents. Because the mother of this student is an immigrant who finds it difficult to communicate with the locals.

The smoothness of this information sharing business is very difficult to see in our country.

Meanwhile, when healthy students move to school, there are co-curricular marks dropouts for various reasons. While it is in one ministry. Not to mention, if the health problems involving two different ministries.

The end of the pen ......... I rarely use the last word of the pen, try reading this book, a little difference may be in the reading genre of all my friends.

Happy writing and making a useful article.

Maybe someone is stuck in traffic jams right now. I pray that God will make it easy.
