It took a while (which I expected), but I finally have a nano vanity address, which I will be using from now on: nano_3snarky6acx7xemo6ipt1gti6dxxtg7b5ku7c5s5ymr659dgzcg83761ztrr

This week in the ongoing exploits of the botanically clueless loud neighbor: The troubles and wonders of Buffalo grass spreading like crazy
Me: Today, I'm going to go through my digital art, label the images and sort them into appropriate directories, but not create any more. Also me: Creates more art that I'll have to label and sort. I cannot resist.
Not infrequently, Windows annoys me so much that I wonder why I haven't yet learned bash, C/C++, ncurses, notcurses, PowerShell, Python and urwid and created TUI versions of all the apps I use on a regular basis. Using console-based applications, tools and utilities seems to be the only way I can get anything done for a prolonged period of time without something crashing, freezing or hanging. If it weren't for the fact that I can't afford a new enclosure for my external backup HDs, all my USB sticks are nearly full and GNU/Linux installers can't find any storage devices on my newer laptop (I suspect Windows has hidden them somehow), I'd have put Manjaro on it a long time ago. That or build a new rig and put GNU/Linux on that.
This morning, I got to play with a black Boerboel (South African Mastiff) puppy. It was all glossy fur, loose skin and slobber, but it was a gorgeous sweet thing that just wanted love and I was sad to put it back in its kennel. I also tried to befriend some skittish cats whom will be there for the next nine months, but didn't make any headway there. Perhaps what I needed was a mouse or some catnip. I'm sure they'll get used to me in time. Otherwise, the next nine months are going to be somewhat miserable for them, devoid of much human contact.
Some days, you eat the hamburger. Other days, the hamburger eats you. Today seems to be one of the latter.
Having finally got a custom/vanity address from nano-vanity after about a day, I imported it into Natrium (which can apparently import by private key), only for the wallet to mistake the private key for a seed, which is different. The net result is that it gives me a different nano address to my custom one, which isn't what I want at all. I'm now running nano-vanity again, this time instructing it to generate a seed instead of a private key, in the hopes that I can use that with Natrium. In the mean time, I'm going to see if I can import the original address it generated. This has not gone as well as I'd hoped, even with an address being generated sooner than I expected.
They seemed to lead busier, fuller lives — been more places, seen more sights, experienced more things, generally achieved more — than was probable/possible for any people so young to have. Urgh. I really, desperately need to find and hold down a job, because I am beyond sick and tired of having the same old circular conversations that go nowhere, being accused of cruising or idle when almost all I do (apart from the tedious non-paid shit that keeps a life going) is try to bring in money, somehow, by various means and getting nowhere (not that that's anything new). All going well, now that I'm on new meds that are meant to keep my mental shit under control, I might actually not just find a job but keep it for more than a few months. I'm not hopeful, given both my history over the last three or so years and how tough it is to get back on the employment ladder after being off it for so long (not that the job market is great to begin with; looking overseas might be better if I could afford to renew/replace my passport and travel).
TIL: Since I've got a Hive address and wallet, I've also got a D.Buzz account about which I previously knew nothing. I guess I've found a Web3 replacement for Tw*tter, without even meaning to. I'm not sure how I feel about this, since it is on the Hive Network and my stance on the community there is quite clearly not complimentary or otherwise positive. I certainly don't expect anyone to follow me there (not even from Noise), much less tip, but I could be pleasantly surprised. https://d.buzz/@gr8.white.snark/ https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/til-since-i-have-a-hive-address-i-also-have-a-dbuzz-account-xwvgpml?a=oQeZVJGJep&tid=Noise&t=Noise
This week, I'm attempting to generate a custom/vanity Nano (XNO) wallet address for myself, using the nano-vanity utility written in Rust. Judging by how slowly the "percentage complete" indicator changes for a fairly short word (snarky), this could take a while, particularly since the GPU on that machine is too old to be compatible. (nano-vanity panics if I include `--gpu`in the command, so I've given it five CPU threads instead.) Loadshedding could certainly complicate matters, since the machine running it has no battery life anymore. https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/how-to-generate-a-nano-xno-vanity-address-with-nano-vanity-xkegqrx?a=oQeZVJGJep&tid=Noise&t=Noise
Various government agencies (Argentina, Britain, France, Germany and Kenya) find WorldCoin's use of biometrics and obtaining personal data "questionable" and have launched investigations into the project's activities. Meanwhile, I wonder if having my eyes removed will become the cost of privacy. If it is, it's an extreme price to pay. https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/argentinian-kenyan-and-other-agencies-investigate-worldcoins-xoqgegp?a=oQeZVJGJep&tid=Noise&t=Noise
Oh, FFS! That warning message makes it look like I did something truly heinous, when all I did was forget to turn of my VPN when accessing a Website. Big deal!
Today in random PTC ads (for Coinpayu): "Freedom to crypto from the people of worldwide". WTF does that mean? That makes zero sense to me. "Freedom to crypto for people worldwide", I understand, but somebody Engrished too hard.
Of the many unpleasant ways to wake up in the morning, choking on my own blood is one of them. Frigging nosebleeds thanks to overheating ...
Today in stupid things that happened: Neighbour whom clearly knows jack shit about botany loudly flapping his jaw about his failed attempt to kill a tree growing too close to a fence, as if everybody needed to hear that riveting monologue. Today in cute things that happened: I got to play with a little Jack Russel puppy and a mad Visla that bites my arms. Exercising pooches is a contact sport.
It looks like it's high time to close the old KuCoin account and find a DEX, now that it's going the KYC route ... https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/another-one-bites-the-dust-kucoin-implements-kyc-xrxlpxg?a=oQeZVJGJep&tid=Noise&t=Noise
Aargh! Presearch keeps turning off usage rewards when it detects I'm using a VPN. For a site/service that supposedly respects privacy, I find this annoyingly incongruous.
I wonder if some of the people whom first imagined dragons stumbled across a few dinosaur fossils and found inspiration. There do seem to be similarities. And now, for something related: The Jabberwocky https://www.publish0x.com/hunting-of-the-snark/beware-the-jabberwock-my-son-xvzepzz
Urgh. Today is not a good day for me. The new meds have me feeling both nauseous and sleepy. IDK if I want to snooze or throw up or both. (Both is not good.) On top of that, weekends are usually quiet for earning from TipNano.
Right, I now have my crazy pills, which will hopefully help me be less crazy (finally) and hold down a job for more than a few months at a time, should I ever find one. Government services may be slow, but they do work if you know how to work them. Perhaps I should get a job in the public sector, then ...
Random dude narrating the tutorial I'm watching: "... if you just type JetBrains PHPStorm 2023 in the Google ..." Me: Wait a minute, dude (whom is coincidentally giving a tutorial on a *new* version of a software development language). It's 2023. Why are you still using "the Google"? Nobody should be using "the Google" when other options exist.
I always want to ask the folks whom advertise that they make handmade leather goods (including clothing) if they make the sort of gear that one might not necessarily want to publicly advertise. However, I lack both the nerve and the money to buy (or someone for whom to buy) if the answer is "yes".
And the LORD inquired: Dost thou even read, bro? But nay, the bro doth not even read. Verily, he continuith to type stupid questions in chat.

We're all born ignorant and we were all young and stupid once. What I wonder is why people put effort into remaining ignorant and uninformed when there is so much interesting stuff to learn from life. Who'd want to be an idiot?
While I am glad to see that Facebook is being taken to task, I am disappointed that it’s restricted to US citizens only. Otherwise, 1M * ~2.5B would surely bleed Meta dry and put a significant dent in its business (if not kill it, which it deserves and which would be justice). Effectively, a $650M fine/payout for a company worth billions is just another slap on the wrist to big business that will carry on being its bad self with impunity, unchecked and undaunted: History is repeating itself yet again thanks to deregulation of semi-monopolies in a freely-exploitable market and legislation that is at least a few (if not several) decades behind. #DeathToMeta #DeathToWeb2 https://www.publish0x.com/cryptocurrencies-a-little-of-everything/reminder-if-you-used-facebook-meta-between-2007-and-2022-you-xjdeozl?a=GRb4QPg6dB&tid=Noise&t=Noise https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/the-farce-that-is-farceborg-fiat-tradfi-and-web-20-xlgjzll?a=GRb4QPg6dB&tid=Noise&t=Noise https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/go-ask-moonalice-i-think-shell-know-or-down-the-rabbit-hole-xooldek?a=GRb4QPg6dB&tid=Noise&t=Noise
Your fiat on TradFi or your crypto on DeFi: Which do you prefer? The choice seems obvious, doesn't it? Yet, many people reject Blockchain and crypto, still clinging to their old gods and institutions. https://www.publish0x.com/cryptographic-viking/the-farce-that-is-farceborg-fiat-tradfi-and-web-20-xlgjzll?a=oQeZVJGJep

The second coming of Yeshua Tate, thanks to the wonders of AI image generation: Until I encountered Andrew Tate's content (specifically seeing him interviewed), I had a hard time believing people claiming to be Christian are genuine. Tate, however, seems sincere in his belief (and he doesn't shy away from the fact the Christian bible is full of horrifically misogynistic content that underpins what he said/taught). Plus, he is horrifically deluded (if not criminally insane) and in jail, so I guess Dan Barker is right about "if you genuinely believed in the teachings of Christianity in the bible, you'd be in jail" (although I'm paraphrasing here). https://www.publish0x.com/hunting-of-the-snark/the-second-coming-of-andrew-jesus-tate-fsm-i-hope-not-xwvgwpv?a=oQeZVJGJep&tid=Noise&t=Noise
