My purpose of this article is to present the spoken / written sentences beautifully. Most of the time, we can't keep the audience's attention because we use the same word over and over again.
Today I will write about the words that will make your writing / words interesting if you avoid using them again and again!
When you are in front of any audience or writing something avoid this words to make your speech or writing more fruitful.
Here are the list of todays selected words which should be avoided:
1)That
2) Honestly
3) Absolutely
4) Very
5) Amazing
6) Always
7) Just
8) Stuff
9) Irregardless
That:
Read on to see if the word ‘That’ is needed. If the meaning of the sentence is clear without ‘That’,do not use ‘That’.
And, ‘That’ should not be used to refer human.
"Rudea have seen many students 'that'
live in the apartment"
"Rudea have seen many students 'who' live in the apartment. "
No matter where you go, whether it's school, college or abroad, use drove, skated, walked, ran, flew, etc instead of using "I 'went to '…".
This adds a different dimension to the sentence. Tell your story differently without being lazy.
Honestly:
"Honestly" is used to emphasize a particular sentence. Whatever it is, we soon let the audience decide that they don't really need to hear the other sentences I say. A horrible mistake I must say!
Absolutely:
It is a simple mistake to use this word over and over again.
If you say this word, the work will be referred as ‘Necessary’, but if you don’t say it, the work will be as ‘Essential’. Have you noticed the difference?
Very:
This term basically defines or modifies a Verb, Adjective or Adverb. In this case, two words have to be used to describe a particular situation. This makes the sentence often misunderstanding.
You can use "Depressed, Melancholy or Woebegone" when referring something very sad.
On the other hand to refer something very happy or very beautiful you can use "Ecstatic".
Again, the word Very refers to an indefinite value with no straight answer. Sometimes your audience wants a direct answer.
When we say "He is very tall", it means we are referring to something indefinite. So it is better to use certain values.
Note this the sentence says, “He is 7’3” tall. ” This increases the acceptability and understanding of the sentence.
Amazing:
We use this word when we are very surprised. It is synonymous with words like Wonderful, Incredible, Startling, Marvelous, Astonishing, Astounding, Remarkable, Surprising, Mind-blowing, Staggering.
If you want to diversify your writing why not using the synonyms? The word "Amazing" is too common to use. Come out of the traditional choice of words.
Always:
The indefiniteness of this widely used term also makes the listener suffer. The listener run into dilemma.
Again, when the author gives such an indefinite amount, it is soon puts a boundary in the world of the reader's imagination. It can only be used when writing any kind of instruction.
Just:
This adjective weakens the sentence. ‘Just’ can only be used if it is used as a synonym for words like Fair, Even-handed, Impartial.
