Often when planting pumpkin you will see only one plant. If you observe, especially in some houses, you will see almost only a pumpkin vine. But even if it is just one, it will bear much fruit.

Planting Pumpkin 🎃

When planting pumpkin chooses the area you will be planting. Take a pumpkin seed and plant it in the ground with a stalk to a depth. Apply fertilizer and water it daily. Place a pumpkin tray. After three to four months, you can harvest pumpkin.

Planting Requirements

  • Pumpkin seeds

  • Trowel

  • Fertilizer

  • Sunlight

  • Water

Do just a little bit of plotting and you can follow the steps below. This is a guide especially for those who want to have a garden in their yard.

How to Plant a Pumpkin

1. Choose a Plantation Area

Choose a place where you can plant pumpkin. That place should be sunny. Sunlight will serve as a pumpkin meal.

With his leaves, he will process it and it will be the food of all his plant parts. When squash gets enough sunlight, its leaves and fruits will be healthy and large.

The place you choose should also be of good quality soil. The beautiful soil is quite dark in color. It contains nutrients that are good for the soil. When the soil is a bit dark it has fertilizer called humus.

Humus comes from decaying substances such as grass, leaves, or other decaying matter. You can choose the place in your backyard or your yard.

2. Prepare the Pumpkin Plantation Land

Now that you have selected the land for which you will plant the pumpkin, the next step is to prepare it.

You need to remove the weeds that surround or grow in the soil you are planting. You need to remove the weeds as this will be the rival of the growing plants. Weeds will absorb the nutrients in the soil that vegetables need to grow.

Also, remove the scattered stones that may also prevent you from making a garden in your yard.

After you remove those things, you start digging the ground. Only a small portion of the soil is needed for a pumpkin tree. With the hoe, you plow the circle. Then you refine the soil. After that, you can plant.

If you plant a lot of pumpkins, make more holes to plant. Put a distance of three meters because the squash will grow and have many leaves when it grows.

3. Prepare the Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds grow easily. But you need to get mature bones. When you cook a pumpkin vegetable, we remove its seeds. You can use those seeds to grow pumpkins. But the percentage that grows it is small.

If you like beautiful and quality pumpkin seeds, buy seeds at the nearest agriculture store. The seeds they sell are of high quality. You can be sure that the seeds you plant will grow.

Seeds or seeds sold in agriculture stores contain 10 or more seeds and cost 20 Pesos and above.

Once you have a seed, you can plant it in your yard.

4. Plant Pumpkin Seeds

When you have a pumpkin seed, we will plant it. Take a trowel and there in the circular pit you made an inch deep. Plant one pumpkin seed in each pit. Cover it with soil then.

Apply organic fertilizer to the surface so that it grows well when it grows. Organic fertilizer is a fertilizer made from decayed leaves, herbs, leftover food, or other perishable substances.

Provide it every pit with a pumpkin plant. Then water it to start growing. Pumpkins will begin to germinate in five to seven days.

5. Water The Pumpkin Always

Pumpkin needs enough water to grow properly. A week later you will see that the pumpkin is growing. You need to water it regularly. When you see that the ground is dry, water it.

The soil dries out more often when the sun is high and the weather is summer. If you see that the soil is still a bit wet, do not dig it first. Pumpkin is not like other vegetables that need a lot of water. It only needs enough water.

When you can water it regularly you can be sure that it will grow well.

6. Add Pumpkin Fertilizer

As the pumpkin continues to grow, it needs more nutrients. The fertilizer you put in the beginning is not enough so you have to add more fertilizer.

Apply organic fertilizer to the plant surface. The fertilizer you put in will help the plant grow even better.

7. Put a trellis

Pumpkin is a type of creeping vegetable. You can crawl it on the ground but it is still better if you put a trellis.

You can put it also in a trash can especially if your space is small. Because of the trunk above its pumpkin leaves and it gets more sunlight which is good for the plant.

8. Pumpkin Harvesting

After three or four months you can harvest the pumpkins. The method of harvesting squash is to take a sharp object as mentally as you can and cut it into its fruit but leave three inches from the squash vine.

It is best to do this so that the pumpkin vegetables do not spoil immediately. You can harvest a lot of pumpkin from just one tree. The more vegetables you have, the more you will reap.
