Way before Mental Wellness was not given enough focus, even up to now some people still has this mindset that when someone feels oddly sad or having this uncontrollable emotion some would still tag you as,"over reacting" or "attention seeker" without knowing or without the proper knowledge of the real reason behind those emotions, that even the person who is feeling it cannot put it into words.

Then whenever someone would know that a person is visiting psychiatrist they would then tag the person as "crazy".

Mental Health is important and we have to be vigilant in observing those people around us especially our families and co-workers as they might cause harm to others or they may harm themselves if not given enough attention. In most cases though these people would just need someone to listen to and that is when the so called SPOT TECHNIQUE comes in.

SPOT TECHNIQUE

Our company focuses now with both fitness and mental health especially that we are in the middle of pandemic and there is this so called Delta Variant that causes too much emotional stress to everyone.

See the signs

  • As what I have mentioned earlier we have to be observant on the people around us even to ourselves. Some signs would be like people who cannot control their emotions example is when you see someone crying uncontrollably, unnecessary silence or being too preoccupied which may affect ones performance at work. We can also consider it as a sign when someone becomes unnecessarily jolly or when someone stares blankly at somewhere even in the middle of a meeting or conversation. Usually, if you or your Boss knows you and your colleagues too well as you have been together for quite awhile then it is a lot easier to distinguish whats going on.

  • We have to be observant since there are some who may also become violent.

Provide Opportunities to Talk

  • If we know someone or distinguish someone suffering from depression, anxiety or anorexia we have to be careful and choose the right words to say. You Boss or you if in case you could handle talking to one would need to find sometime to talk it over. In cases like you are the one suffering from Mental Health or when you notice that there is already something wrong then proactively seek for guidance or advice, be it to someone you trust, to tour Boss or professional help.

  • Please let us normalize seeking help from Psychiatrist as one way of making sure we are well and should not be criticize. Let us remove that thought that whenever someone seeks professional help they are then crazy! Because this is one of the main reason why others are afraid to speak up. Let us not tag those people toxic when all they want is to be heard.

Offer a Non-Judgmental Listening Ear

  • Whenever that someone talks to you about their mental health or personal issues please avoid personal comments or judgement. We have different paths and we have different amount of pain or emotion tolerance. There are cases that a certain problem or issue maybe easy for you to handle but it maybe too much for others.

Time to Talk

  • Find sometime to talk to that person. We have to be proactive on checking on our friends or colleagues and if you are the one who needs someone to talk to please do not wait too long or hide it way too long until you cannot even take it.

  • One of the reason why some people would not dare to speak up is because there are people who would tag them as toxic. I have experience it first hand and I learned the hard way.

But when I started to have noise.cash and read.cash it became a medium for me to show my emotions and write articles based on my experiences and how I felt freely as no one dares to judge here instead, we are given advices as to how we could handle our issues and I found a lot of virtual friends here.

It is important to give attention to our Mental being. It is never wrong to feel bad or to say we are not okay. It is okay not to be okay. What is not okay is not doing anything to be okay.

Well, I guess this is a cultural thing.. in other countries, seeking medical help is not a surprising thing... it is only here in our country that every single act is being criticisized by the neighbors
