She's Definitely Legal

There could be a lot of memorable moments in life; some are those unexpected moments with the people we love, at times are those occasion celebrated by family, friends and relatives.

Yesterday, was one of the best memories as we were able to celebrate the 18th birthday of my niece. We gathered at this very special event to celebrate with her and wish her the best in life. It turned out to be a way in order to be with our relatives that we have not met for a long while.

You see, we have different lives, different struggles and there are times when we have to fight silent battles but it is such a great thing to breath, laugh and enjoy with the people that matters.

My niece is a beautiful, smart and talented young lady. I can say I am very much proud of her for being so independent. Her Mom and Dad are both based in UK while she has to stay here in Philippines to continue her studies. I cannot imagine how strong she is knowing what all things she had gone through. Despite being with her mother side's family there are things that she has to battle alone and I must say that this lovely princess is a strong warrior by heart!

Her parents went home to visit and be with her on this special day of her life. They have not met for a couple of years as COVID19 hit the world which I believe everyone felt isolated on their own home so when the world open its doors for travelling again they did not waste anymore time and planned everything.

Being 18 is another set of milestone to be proud of. Other than being in a legal age this is the time when you are in the middle of being a teenager and an adult which is worth celebrating.

Through the celebration she had 18 beautiful candles, 18 roses and 18 treasures. Some were given a chance to say their messages to the debutant including her parents which was the highlight of the event.

Her Mom was teary eyed and I know she has too much emotions within her that she does not show in public but I somehow understood her because I am a mom too. Seeing her daughter grow up to be such a fine lady, an achiever to be exact is every mom's dream come true. I know my Ate (Cousin) did her best despite being far from her daughter. I want to congratulate her for being able to raise her child well despite the distance and struggles. I have always been overthinking if how can I raise my 2 daughters and I hope I can do the same.

Her Dad also stated his message, appreciating her for what she have become and for doing her best always. Her parents have been so proud of her especially that she is also conquering academe with flying colors.

Her Dad was also her 18th rose. Such a great view to see and I believe every woman dream of having the same experience.

Some of our other relatives were also given the chance to say their message to her. Most of them wishes the debutant well, success and happiness. Others also advised her to save for the future which for me was the best and there are also some who are offered to be her crying shoulder or ears to lean on when she needed them the most.

It was a mix of emotional but fun-filled celebration.

Dearest Marie Cris,

You have grown up to be such an intelligent woman and someday I know that you will be successful. As you continue your journey in life you will encounter different struggles and achievements but know that whatever would that be our family will always be here to support you especially Ady.

Life would not always be on your side just never forget to look up when you feel down and everything will be alright.

Maybe one thing that I would want you to bear in mind is when you compete, compete with yourself. Always choose to be kind and never decide when you are too happy nor too sad. There are a lot of things in life that you will eventually discover, never be afraid to explore and live life to the fullest!

Life may be composed of sugar and spice but everything is not nice so learn to look at the brighter side.

Yesterday was a blast! It was nice to see my cousin and her husband after quite sometime. I hope they continue to enjoy their stay here and make the most out of it!
