Alternate Realities

What if the world were different? What if, instead of a bustling metropolis, Toronto was a quiet, small town? We all live in our own little worlds, each one of us creating our own reality. But what if there were other versions of us out there, places where things play out differently than they do in our world?

For starters, alternate realities could mean that there are other instances of ourselves out there, versions that made different choices than we did. Maybe in one reality you decided to go to college, while in another you didn't. Or maybe in one story you became a successful doctor, while in another you ended up working at a fast food restaurant. The possibilities are endless. Alternate realities could also have different models of history. In one version, World War II never happened, while in another reality the United States never became a country. The possibilities are truly endless. So what does all this mean for our world? Well, for starters, it means that anything is possible. If there are alternate realities out there, that means that anything we can imagine is out there somewhere. And that's pretty amazing. It also means that we should be careful about the choices we make, because they could have major implications not just for ourselves, but for the world as a whole. If there's an alternate reality out there where World War II never happened, that means that the choices we make could have major historical implications. So we should always be mindful of the choices we make, because we never know what kind of impact they could have. I encourage everyone to think about alternate realities, and what they could mean for our world. It's a fascinating topic to think about, and it really makes you wonder about the possibilities that are out there.

I watched a movie on Netflix the other week which picked my brain and drew me out to start thinking about alternative realities. It lead the story of a young girl in two parallel realities. Each had it ups and downs but she was able to find her feet at the end of the story in both realities.

Sometimes you feel like you aren’t where you are supposed to be, that better things could have happened if you hadn’t made the choices you made last year, last month, last 10 years. Anxiety kicks in, Depression too. Alas!! You discover that you are at that crossroad with a north dead end, where you can never be happy anymore… Well, things could have been different in an alternative reality. You really could have been where you wanted to be, but that doesn’t guarantee happiness. What matters is that you always find a way to be where you are meant to be.

A story of a young man can be found somewhere on the web that sheds more light to the concept of happiness. When he was ten years old, his life was perfect. He had a wonderful family, good friends, and seemingly unlimited potential. He was clever enough to know that there were people in the world who were less fortunate than him, but the notion that there may be alternate realities in which his life might be anything other than perfect simply never occurred to him. It seemed like a crazy idea. But suddenly something changed he recounts and said that In 1995, he was hit by a car while riding my bicycle on the way home from school, shattering his lower back and rendering his legs completely useless. My carefree childhood abruptly ended, and I was forced to grow up overnight he says

In my experience of this alternate reality, I learned many lessons. I discovered how wrong I was about happiness. As an adult in this reality, happiness is not a given - it's something you fight for every day with every ounce of strength you have. Happiness is no longer just a blessing that comes from within; it is something that takes effort to find outside yourself. And in order to find it, you have to go looking for it.

One of the main causes of our unhappiness is the fact that we keep truncating the moments we are meant to cherish now, for the moments we could have had., and that kinda creates a loops sort of.

I'm thrilled that the Netflix movie was able to convey that, regardless of your choices in life, you will still experience both very difficult and highly rewarding moments. It demonstrates to us that imagining alternate "lives" is not really about what we missed but rather about realizing that any path will have both exciting surprises and challenging difficulties.

….. The things that makes us unhappy are things that we don’t have power over. We have the power to create our happiness. So why choose to be unhappy?

Create your own happiness and stop day dream about a life that you ought to have. That's the key. Happiness isn't just something that comes out of the blues, we need to create room for it.

I'll try to watch the movie you talked about. Fron your reply to another comment i know the title .

Exactly! But I know it's just too tough for some and I understand why can't feel positive about their situation but once they open up their heart and their imagination tricks the reality whatever the reality is, they can win the situation. They can change the way they see the world.
