Readstars from all around the world, it feels good to be part of this and a pleasure to have you guys here too. Hope y'all are had/having a good day today. To all those whose school has resumed, may we have the strength and energy to face our studies and finish what we have started💪.

I was in a discussion yesterday with my school friends and we were talking about how some people will spend their time and money to get educated for years and after they graduate, they seem not to have something to show for it in terms of employment.

This discussion was started by my friend Dora, who had woken up late today for lectures and discovering that the lectures are already ending, she decided to stay back and finish up her sleeping. When I tried to compromise her, she stood on the point that; if she had come to class, she would be so late and she might just meet the end of the lectures.

I tried to know why she woke up late and she said she was reading all night. At that point, I jokingly said; Jack ass! "Where you tryna cover the whole semester in one night? She giggles and said; possibly!

I know it good to read but not so late at night while you have classes the next day. Times like this, alarms seems to be weak o the ear because you might possibly not hear a sound of it; I replied.

"Jane has been standing by the door Eve's dropping our conversation, she quickly joined at sight"

Jane: "hi guys, anything edible on the cupboard or pot? I am heck as hungry."

Me: "hi Jane, you look so hungry indeed I can see them in your eyes. What a day for you? You look pale as tired as well."

Jane: "am starving and ...hey Dora, have you been on bed since morning or you just hopped in there now? Why are you eyes so sleepy or is it what am thinking?"

Dora: "my dear! I have been sleeping all day. I skipped my morning classes already"

Jane: sighs " that was better for you indeed. Could you imagine that I didn't make breakfast because of that lectures. But it broke my heart when the lecturer didn't show up"

Me: "ouch! That wasn't funny at all"

Dora: "what! You mean the class didn't hold this morning? Wow luck me indeed"

Dora got something to eat from the cupboard and she was eating, she dropped a comment that made the headline.

Jane: "this is how people will starve and struggle for school and at last, they will still have no job; no money to feed themselves. What a life!"

Me: "My dear, that is not fully a truth. If you say so, what about people you call your lectures now, weren't they in school before taking there profession?"

Jane: " well I don't mean it that way. I was referring to the population of this country. Check it out, the cost of education is high and increasing daily and after all this suffer of getting educated, majority ends jobless"

Dora: "woo! It true that the unemployment rate is high and the school cost is going higher but I see no reason to blame school or education here"

Me: " my dear, it the job of schools to train you academically, to open your mind and impact knowledge on you. It never their responsibility to provide job for the population"

Jane: " it is true that school teaches mathematics, economics and other courses but, if it really their responsibility to impact knowledge, why are there no courses that teaches how to make money and how to avoid brokeness in the population? Give me and answer both of you.

Me: Jane, you are taking this so far. The best I could answer you is that; when you give your mind to education and focus on your studies, there will never be no way you would not have something doing in the population"

Jane: " I disagree with you Gianna. There are lots of first class graduates in the population that are unemployed"

At this point in time, I reasoned that Jane was hungry and just took something she's eating. She must regained her strength and is ready for an unending argument. If I should continue with her, I will talk myself to being hungry and she would always find something to counter my contributions. Now, it either I take a leave or agree with her to reserve my strength for the next lectures.

Me: Jane, I can see you are having a good meal now. I think I have to get myself something to eat before the next class. Thank you"

Dora who had known Jane and her unending argument was keeping silent and on hearing my excuses, she busted into laughter.

Dora: "come back dear. Let make something to eat together (laughing) I have enough for us"

I replied thanks to her offer as I banged the door and left to my room.

Closing thought:

This is not the first time I came into argument or discussion like this. I like it when people flow and say their mind but, putting blame on anything is what till now I do not understand. Some people in my town are making fun of education by saying that: ..."school is scam''...well that their opinion but I remember asking one of my friends brother why he said that school is scam?

He replied by mentioning the unemployment rate, the number of graduates without a single job and other things he said that makes sense to him. I wanted to ask him about the people that has job: doctors, lawyers and so on, but I already weighed who I want to get into argument with and stopped.

I know someone who started school with me but now, he and his other groups of friends are dropouts. People really have to change thier views on school and education.
