What's going on Readlanders? I have been battling with the network since after rain this evening but alas, I am posting and reading again. In this article, I'll be telling you guys how relationship and marriage in my city has become, without much time, let me get down to business..

This is How Marriage and Relationships Works Around Here

Obi happens to be Ada's date. They have been dating for a while and they both love themselves so much, no doubt and are on the same level. Obi is also not ready to marry because he wants to be established first. He has a picture of what his future home would look like and has plans of getting them ready before going into Marriage with the love of his life. Ada is ready to wait, but a 21 yr old boy and a 21 yr old girl are not of the same age in terms of marriage. She loves him and always dreams of a happy home with him.

Now, they both graduate and Obi goes into business, making plans for marriage at 24, while Ada at 24 is already seeing herself as a mother. Time is not by her side she says to herself. She keeps asking her unanswered questions about when she would get married and carry her baby. She wants to have babies in her twenties with fresh blood and not at an older age and yet she's still waiting for Obi who is struggling to build up.

As a beautiful young lady she is, Emmanuel came for her hand in marriage through referral or meeting. Emmanuel is rich and owns a car, be has already built his wealth and is looking for a mother to his unborn children. In the same way, Ada has built her life around Obi over the years.

Now she's confused and doesn't want to break Obi's heart even though Emmanuel is a nice man. He has all she desires and will love to marry him but what happens to her long term love with Obi. Her parents already accepted Emmanuel and have started calling him their in-law. Half of Ada's friends support that she marries Emmanuel while the rest support that she waits for Obi and not break his heart.

Unfortunately, she has one choice to make but each time she stands in front of her mirror, she sees her beautiful self aging and has to meet up with her life plans. Finally, Emmanuel is the way forward. She can't wait again, in her mind she can't wait forever. "I am a woman and time is not by my side" were the lines that convinced her.

She feels pity for Obi, but it's not her fault. It's not Obi's fault either. She tries to explain situations to Obi that she has to move because she is not sure of tomorrow and that her parents have chosen Emmanuel. Obi gets heart broken and leaves things to be. He is hurt and emotionally damaged. He feels like killing Emmanuel who took away from him the love of his life but what can a broke guy do? His friends talk him down to let go and focus on his wealth that one day, things would be fine and he would find a better person.

Out of annoyance and with a broken heart, Obi swears to avenge his loss. He focused on his hustle and forgot about a serious relationship. He believes that love does not exist and has vowed never to love with his heart again. Soon he began to see success and has many female admirers. Anyone who comes around for a date, he only dates for dating sake and is not dedicated because "once bitten, twice shy"

Ada is happily Married to Emmanuel and has forgotten Obi ever existed, which is the only way to save her marriage. She will soon have kids and leave the league of singles and on the other hand, Obi is now ready for marriage. The love of his life was taken from him and so, if there is a man for every woman, and a woman for every man, he has lost his own. It's time to take anyone he meets.

This is Nazy. Nazy is currently dating Torres. She loves Torres, but he is still trying to build up. Obi riding in his car gave her a lift. He asked her for a date which she agreed with even though she was hurt to let go of Torres. She isn't getting any younger, though same age range as Torres.

Obi doesn't even care to know who the hell Torres is, all he wants is a life with the apple of his eyes ; Nazy. He has broken the heart of many girls as revenge for his loss and now it is time to settle down.

Torres is hurt and starts believing "Life is never balanced". That's when he knew that his wife is still imaginary not whoever he is thinking he would marry. He starts dating for dating sake and decides to be a playboy till he is ready for marriage.

Whenever he is ready to settle down, who knows whether he won't take Emily from Josh?

Here in my city, a higher percentage of men think that love does not exist anymore except in marriage. They go on a relationship without genuinely loving their partner. This is a doped City that thinks that women are not worthy of being trusted in a relationship, they preach it and pass the message along the streets. They just believe that a woman will break your heart no matter what you do for her. Cheating has become the other of the day, no one is being faithful again because they don't want to lose at last. I have decided to respect myself and work hard to build myself in a way that nothing would impress me in a man. Be it riches or fancy, I have decided to work harder to get them and live an independent life. This is because most girls who are heartbroken are always dependent on their partners. I chose to live an independent future.
