Daily Struggle for Responsibility

It another beautiful morning readers and am happy to see a new day May today bring us goodies and blessings in abundance. As we embark on our daily activities and working to achieve our goal for the day, may luck follow us as we strive. Some of my friends are not feeling fine since yesterday. If we had the power to cancel sickness in our life, no one would ever be sick again. I hope and pray that you all get well soon.

People wake up every morning to resume where they have stopped the previous day. For those that live close to the main road, as early as cockcrow, you could hear the buzz and honking of cars and other vehicle along the road. Some people only sleep for few hours at night because of their job. They come back late due to traffic and go to work as early as 4:00 o’clock in the morning. One of my uncles who work in a bank at Lagos happens to be among them.

He literally has no much time for his family because of his job. That what brings food on his table, so he would be grateful he has a job though. I really couldn’t imagine myself making breakfast at midnight in other to sleep without getting disturbed again for the night during my stay with his family. He has dinner late, goes to bed late, wakes up so early and get prepared for work after which he catches up with the staff bus. Immediately he gets seated in the bus, he dozes off again till their destination. This happens every work days of the week.

On the other hand, some people enjoy their sleep all night till 6:00 o’clock in the morning without worrying themselves till their alarm sound. All this though depends on the nature of their job. Some as well are being telephoned every morning before they visit their office. For them, no calls, no work for the day and they all get paid at the end of the month. Some don’t have any job and are looking for one while some are being begged to have something doing. Life can really be ironical!

Does it really matters to have something doing, to have a place of work for people to believe that you are up to standard in the society? Must everyone get a white collar job to be recognized in their family first before being recognized by the society as responsible?

The truth remains that in our society today, the answer to the above question is yes and remains yes. People of age should have a source of income before their responsibility circle will be acknowledged. For instance in a family of three, the first son has no job while the last son has a job and is feeding the family. There will be respect in the family but the respect won’t be balanced; you know what I mean. The parent of such family might assume that the child that provides food is more responsible than the other and that is true.

In other way round, people must not have an office job to be responsible. This speaks for this modern era, this world of making money online. Some people have their office on their smartphone, some on their laptop and other electrical device. Example of this kind of work I mean here include; freelancing, network marketing etc. and not forgetting the big bang; crypto and trading. The modernization of some offices has made most people lose their job. The introduction of robotics which has higher efficiency than human labor into work places has rendered so many jobless. The world is really changing!

Both job pays well, they can be lucrative and their workers are all rich. One is self-employed and the other is working for a company. One can get sacked and replaced while one is his owner, manager, boss and his staff. There is a big difference between having an office job and having an online job. What matters here now is having something doing and contributing positively to the society.

Closing thought

It feels so good to be employed or to be an employer. Having a job and something doing it really important in our society. Whether or not we are in the working class, we should keep it right and make something good out of that.
